Golden clear colour with a nice head. Nearly no aroma, very little of hops. First at the flavour very malty then some hoppy and then malty again in the finish. Grainy aroma with some corn initially, the beer is also on the honey sweet side. After a few minutes, cardboard begins to emerge in both the flavor and nose, and now that seems to be what I’m noticing the most, especially in the finish. Light bodied, but not watery. Medium carbonation. Not refreshing except when immediately out of the fridge. Half-inch white head settles to a thin ring. Overall, honey-sweet adjuncts and cardboard -- not exactly a winning combination, but I’ve definitely had worse pale lagers. PilsnerPeter (2667), Flushing, New York, USA

And that you should have bought it while baking in the Carribean sun. About as good as your old familiar American lager benchmarks. puzzl (2661), New York, New York, USA
| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Jan 27, 2006 It’s a damn shame... JW Lees ’98 was supposed to be #300, but I can’t resist a free rating when it’s shoving itself in my face. Just one sip of this is enough to encourage a nasty pucker-face in even the manliest of men... dry, (bad) sour, bready and weak, this beer is truely among the worst of the worst. Nose is malt, the middle thin, the finish is some what dry, and has a touch of hops. Clean, crisp, and altogther forgettable, but I’m sure the lager lovers will like it. downender (2649), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England
