Pours black with a beige ring of head that clings to the side of the glass. Aroma is chocolate, lots of coffee, roasted malts and burnt bread. Taste is similar to the aroma, smooth, creamy.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled from nitro at the brewery. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has roasted malts with dark grains and a dry bite. Flavor has more of an earthy dark grain note supported by roasted malts.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
4.5 oz. pour, on tap at the brewpub in Red Wing, Minnesota. Consumed on 12-13-14. On nitro. Pours dark brown with a moderate amount of beige head. Nice nitro head and lacing. Dark chocolate and coffee scents. Pleasant but ordinary stout aroma. Milky, creamy, dark chocolate flavors; chocolate cake and brownie. Really nice flavor. Typical thin and “undercarbonated” nitro beer palate effects. Quite tasty, though I don’t think nitro does most beer much of a favor in terms of flavor.
