Bottle from the legendary Kris Wines. This was a devious delayed gusher! I opened it, left it to warm for a few minutes, and returned to find half of it on my table. The pour’s deep brown with a full tan head. The nose is sweet chocolate syrup, some nuts, ash, roasted malts. Hints of smoke. The taste is milk chocolate. Earthy bitterness. More ash. Hints of vanilla, wood. Some espresso. Bitter, dry finish. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Nice and creamy. Overall, a pretty excellent beer (gushing excepted). Redchurch certainly know how to do dark beers!
