3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 ACD (341) - Dublin, IRELAND - MAY 13, 2013
33cl bottle. Pours hazy deep gold with fairly thick white head. Aroma is sweet mango, tangerine, pineapple, sugary refresher bar, lime. Taste follows suit with a decent tropical whack, some biscuit malt, a bit of spruce and pine, grapefruit, waxy orange, and yeastiness. A bit thin. Medium-dry finish. Lingering waxy bitterness. Very tasty and easy drinking - could have sworn this was closer to 5% ABV than 7+.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Hanoi (74) - - MAY 1, 2013
Nose is tropical fruits, kiwi, grapefruit and a touch of peach. Taste, is pine, resin, grapefruit peel, and herbs. The slight undercut of sweet honey, is what gives some distinction in a common style. Bitter finish is lasting. Mouthfeel is nice and full.
Every brewery has an American style IPA, and this is as a good example of it with some differentiation in taste, but sometimes it’s better to lead than follow...

Keg at Vintage, Leith. It pours hazy gold with a small white head. The nose is full of tropical fruit... Five alive fruit juice, orange, tangerine, mango, papaya and guava. The taste is zesty orange, tangerine, bold bitterness, resin, light toast, peppery/spicy element and some alcohol warmth with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Tasty fruity IPA. Rather impressed with this one, well done Redchurch!

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 johninmelb (1006) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2013
Fabulous hoppy nose with lemon peel, melon, kiwi, papaya and a touch of pine. Pours a muddy amber with a fluffy head. Flavour is something of a revelation - bitterness first with a bit of dirty socks, some burnt lime and tons of forest floor pine needles. Develops with some peppery heat, some candied orange peel, plenty of mango and yet more piney spice. Finish is long, sharp, broad, dry, fat, full of flavour and moreish. An absolute freakin’ corker of an IPA.
