3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at The Eagle, Old Street, London. Really nice trapful of beer. Fizzy, rich, treacly, Summer meadow hop-fuelled. Good stuff.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from the Haymarket.
Appearance - cloudy orange brown with a decent head.
Nose - fresh mandarins
Taste - something earthy and spicy maybe root vegetables. Bitter citrus finish.
Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish.
Overall - interesting and tasty. Another good beer from Redchurch. Not sure why it’s called Gold though.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Has that cheesy nose I get from Redchurch beers, dry toffee, bitter.

chocolate, caramel, golden, brown, red, quite dark with no head just some cloudy bubbles, medium bitterness, medium sourness, I have a feeling this is a marmite type beer as you either like it or don’t, it also tastes like marmite which incidentally I don’t like coz its too sour and bitter, doesn’t taste how it smells at all, light body, thin feel, fizzy, not for me, bottle at bottle shop, Canterbury.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml. Not even nearly gold: misting chestnut with a cratered beige foam sticking to the pot. Enticing gritty coffee grounds, redcurrant and liquorice aroma. Fine tacky hopcone flavour with redcurrant and spearmint bitterness building to a citrus coffee finish. Impressive. Evidence that a judicious sprinkle of crystal malt with a shitload of new world hops can work a treat.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Hazy golden brown with an off white foam. Aromas are toffee with floral pine and spices. Yeasty with light oranges and hints of plastic. Bready yeast with nutty black tea and mellow red berries. Flavours are sweet toffee with resinous pine and pithy grapefruit. Herbal with spices and pineapple with leafy notes. Some hints of lime. Pretty good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
More of a dark reddish amber than gold; murky; next to no head - a few white wisps; aroma is tropical fruit cocktail: mango and peach - it’s like some mad relative’s punch at a barbecue; taste is sweetish malt and plenty of exotic and bitter hops; a faint chocolatey edge prevents this from being yet another Kernel / Partizan / Generic New London brewery pale ale clone; tasty enough.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home, from ABM, 07/03/14.
Hazed golden amber with a decent off white head that thins after a while.
Nose is light pine, biscuit crumble, toffee, earthy hop pangs.
Taste comprises, chalky mineral bite, earthhops, light pine jacket, caramel malt, bitter tropicana tang.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, grassy hop bitterness in a semi drying close.
Another solid offering from Redchurch.
