COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rich and chocolatey A proper imperial stout brewed with chocolate & caramel malts, and dark roasted barley. The flavour is immediately rich and chocolatey, giving way to espresso notes. It finishes with a great waft of citrus from a generous blend of our favourite hops.

Deilig.

Huge dark brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty chocolatey aroma with resiny notes. Dryish roasty chocolatey taste with toffee notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry roasty sooty burnt aftertaste with mealy notes. It’s really dark and roasty. That’s about it. (0.33l bottle, from Copenhagen.)

Half-pint, draught at Euston Tap. Patchy surface, tan-coloured, to a deep, devil-black body. Roasted aroma with hints of earth and chocolate. Dark malty flavours with coffee and chocolate to the fore, backed by a touch of pine. Bitter roasted ending. Well bodied. Pleasing, well crafted stout (London 12.07.2015).

On tap at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Body is pitch black, head is big, brownish, rocky, average lasting, good lacing. Nose is mocha, flavor is coffee, roasted malt. Medium sweet. Medium to heavy roasty bitter. Finish is medium lasting roasty bittersweet. Full body, dry and sticky texture, soft carbonation. Quite easy dessert beer.

Bottle. Nice imperial stout, great roasted coffee and chocolate flavours. Sweet, oily, smooth with well hidden alcohol. Nicely done.

Bottle from Utobeer, London. Pours dark brown-black with a single finger tan coloured head. Aroma of chocolate, smokiness, coffee, spices...Taste of initial chocolate and creamy flavours then some coffee, smoky, bitterness, breadiness, lemon. Very nice!

Bottle, picked up at the brewery, and supped at home. Chestnut brown, and I’m guessing cloudy, given the amount of sediment that came out after rinsing the bottle. Film of tan head. Dark chocolate. Milk chocolate. Coffee grinds. Some liquorice. Some charred wood. Lots going off. Taste is light bitter. Quite dry. Smidge of chocolate sweetness. Palate is a little thin, and dry. Bit too fizzy, too. Finishes earthy dry. Light bitter. I’d put a fiver on this being much better from a cask.
