3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma and upfront tastes of hops, almost BIPA like. Then fading to a more familiar stout make up of roasty dryness and coffee. Really nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is a very solid imperial stout. Tastes quite traditional to me although I agree the citrusy hops come through quite strongs (a great thing in my view) which makes it less sweet that many stouts. I didnít quite get the chocolate but did get plenty of coffee in the malt, which also taste a bit burnt, adding to the bitterness

Bottle from odd bins London bridge. Opaque black with a thick loose light tan head. Aroma is hop dominant. Some citrus roast choc sleigh mineral. Flavour is more citrus hop and dry roast coffee. Dry finish and long duration of coffee. Over carbed prickley numbing on the tongue. Very strange Stout this is closer to a Roasty black IPA.

Flavour of roasted malts, grapefruit, strong herbs, strong dry dark chocolate and mild but weird glueish off-flavours. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel and a roasty, coffee, herbal finish. A rather hoppy stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
(33 cl bottle from Utobeers @ Borough Market; BBD: Presumably December 4th 2013 and not April 12th) A bit of a gusher in the bottle. Pours black with medium, creamy toffee head that leaves lace. Aroma is dark and roasted with notes of licorice and coffee and perhaps a hint of fruity hops. Creamy texture, full body, soft carbonation and a roasted, dry finish. Quite smooth and the palate and drinkable. Flavour is generally dark and roasted but perhaps thereís a bit of fruity hops toward the end - at least I donít detect much of the ascorbic roastedness that could otherwise be typical for this kind of beer. Quite decent and drinkable.
