3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drank with Kaspar at my place 23-12-2015. For a low ABV stout, this one has pretty much taste. Liked the beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, fruits, berries and pine. Almost black with a tan head. Medium sweet and medium to heavy bitter. Medium to full body with a average carbonation. Overall this is a very enjoyable well hopped Stout, more like a BIPA than a traditional stout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black with airy tan head. Aroma has roasted malt, hops and chocolate. Flavour has more chocolate, coffee and good hoppy bitterness. Lasting, solid bitterness with notes of licorice appearing towards finish. Carb seems rather high, which detracts a little. Otherwise quite nice hoppy stout.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pitch black body with a large, creamy, brown head that laces the glass excellently, and settles as a fully lasting layer of a decorative thickness. The aroma is strong and is as hoppy as it’s malty: this is no stout, it’s a BIPA! I get lots of roasted malt, coffee, tropical fruits, grapefruit and pine. The BIPA feeling is definitely there in the strong flavour as well, and I get the same notes as in the aroma. The taste is light to moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter. The body is medium, it’s dry and has a moderate carbonation. I’m extremely surprised that this is not listed as a BIPA, it would be my definition of the style! Maybe they’ve tweaked the recipe? Or is it too black? Nevertheless, absolutely delicious!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours an onyx black body with a large creamy light beige head. Nose is licorice, leather, dark chocolate, coffee, grains and hints of caramel, grass and herbs in the back. Taste is dark berries, chocolate, coffee, straw, caramel and hints of herbs, brown bread and wet grass in the back. Medium to full body and carbonation. For presenting itself as an "imperial stout" this 6 % ABV brew actually lives up to the image - despite the lack of alcohol and corresponding fullness, the taste experience from this beer is surprisingly par with what you would expect to find in an imp stout. At least a classic English imperial stout. Nicely pulled off by Redchurch, a brewery I’ll be looking out for in the future.
