COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rich and chocolatey A proper imperial stout brewed with chocolate & caramel malts, and dark roasted barley. The flavour is immediately rich and chocolatey, giving way to espresso notes. It finishes with a great waft of citrus from a generous blend of our favourite hops.

Bottled 16/11/13. A black beer with a little head. A nice slick stout with good lingering flavours. Not overly bitter or roasty but certainly tasty with a fruity edge. Very likeable.

Bottle at the Old Red Cow, London on 21 September 2012. Poured a thick black colour with a large, dense tan head. Looked beautiful! Full aroma of dark chocolate, liquorice and roasted malt. Fantastic thick, creamy mouth feel. Flavours of coffee, dark fruits and ash. Citrus and pine hoppy flavours then come into the mix and the palate is a wonderful balance of the hops and roasted malt.

This is a nice beer. While dark and chocolaty on the nose and palate there is a real hop kick to it when drunk. A fruity punch that is both welcome and pleasurable. There is just something missing from this beer and i dont know what it is.

Aroma and upfront tastes of hops, almost BIPA like. Then fading to a more familiar stout make up of roasty dryness and coffee. Really nice.

This is a very solid imperial stout. Tastes quite traditional to me although I agree the citrusy hops come through quite strongs (a great thing in my view) which makes it less sweet that many stouts. I didn’t quite get the chocolate but did get plenty of coffee in the malt, which also taste a bit burnt, adding to the bitterness
