COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rich and chocolatey A proper imperial stout brewed with chocolate & caramel malts, and dark roasted barley. The flavour is immediately rich and chocolatey, giving way to espresso notes. It finishes with a great waft of citrus from a generous blend of our favourite hops.

Bottle sample @ ACBF 2015.

Small yellow ring on deep cola-coloured beer. Dry hops, dry hopbales, very inviting with a little roasted edge. Sweet-roasted, lightly ashy to smoked, sweet liquorice appearing retronasal. Something fishy-mineral as well. Medium to well bodied. Quite OK!

Sampled bottled @ ACBF 2015. Black, little mocha head. Nose is thick mocha, light soy sauce / umami. Taste is soy sauce / umami, bitter roast, bitter herbal, huge mocha, bitterness subsides in the finish. Big roast & mocha body. Not to my preferences but pretty nice all the same. (Thanks for sharing people!!!)

Dark brown, looks appetizing. from a bottle, almost no head. There’s a little bit of tree fruit among the standard stout aromas, blueberry, blackberry. Turmeric aroma as well. Taste is fairly standard for a stout. creamy mouthfeel, roasted chocolate, coffee, Sweet a little at the finish.

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours black, roasty and bitter, light fruit. Prefer the bottle, keg a bit too cold and fizzy.

Keg @ 57 Thomas Street, Manchester. Black with a thin off-white head. Chocolatey and spicy, but never overbearing in either respects. This ale has a smoothish texture with underlying roasted malts in its taste that get slightly more stated in its nose.

Keg, half-pint in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury on 26th Jan 2015. Black as the ’Ace of Spades’ with a tanned topping. Roasted and toasted maltiness all the way with this brew. Chocolate and coffee notes in both the aroma and taste, mild liquorice and vanilla hints within the malty flavours too. Good body feel, full and fairly rich in texture.
