COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rich and chocolatey A proper imperial stout brewed with chocolate & caramel malts, and dark roasted barley. The flavour is immediately rich and chocolatey, giving way to espresso notes. It finishes with a great waft of citrus from a generous blend of our favourite hops.

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, chocolate, Brett funk (infection?), fruity hops, citrus, some coffee. Flavour is moderate sweet and above moderate bitter. Body is medium. Probably infected, judging by the other ratings. May have to rerate one day. Still tasty though.

Pours a dark brownish black colour with a medium light brown head. A coffee and chocolate aroma in the main but also some fruit tones present. Roasted malt sweetness, coffee and chocolate taste and a nice dry finish.

Bottle. Black pour, creamy head. Aroma of sweet sugary yeast, funk and roasted malt. Flavor of creamy chocolate, yeast, red fruit, mild tart, roast and a funky finish. Don’t know whether the funk was intended, but it’s nice.

330ml bottle @Metenis 2016. Pitch black color. Medium size, brown head, stays. Roast, spicy, black pepper, chilly in aroma. Rose pepper, roast, dry chocolate cake, yeasty and just a tiny bit of diacetyl in taste. Rose pepper and roast in aftertaste. Nice and spicy, but that’s pretty much it. Drinkable, but not very exciting.

Easy drinkable, but quite rich. Nice roasted malt background, quite powerful dark choco kick, some coffee, hoppy citrus bit out of picture. Moderate sweet with moderate bitterness. Lovely, but bit boring

Flaska. Svart öl med ett stort och långvarigt moccafärgat skum. Dofter av choklad, rostad malt, espresso och lakrits. Smakinslag av espresso, choklad, aska, soja och citrus. Torr munkänsla. Torr eftersmak. Besk avslutning. Mycket trevlig.

Pours black with tall tan head. Aroma of German sausage, roasted malt, citrus, a slightly weird medicine Jaegermeister note. Taste is bitter, citrus and roasted malt. Body is light, kind of sticky with average carbonation. Not very balanced. Maybe a dud.

On tap at Cafe Sara, january 15th 2016. Black body, brown head. Massive coffee and chocolate aroma with licorice and malt. Taste is bittersweet, thick bodied, good roastiness, with a strong yet balanced aftertaste of dark chocolate and black malts. After finding my earlier Redchurches lacking a bit I’m happy to be positively surprised  by this one - almost beautiful.
