Hazy brown beer, small pale tan head. Light dry palate. Light touch of dark malt, trace of unsweet chocolate and a whisper of smoke. Mild orange with a little pine. Dry finish. Hangs together okay but could do with some more complexity.

500ml bottle from The Kernel, drunk 9th May 2011. Mid brown with a small bit of cream head. Lots of sediment, definitely pour it carefully. Malty initial taste. Loads of rich caramel but also strong hopping for a great, even finish. Strength not too apparent but the taste rewards measured drinking. Very smooth.

In bottle. Pours dark ruby colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of passion fruit, pineapple, pine, coffee and caramel. Nicely bitter with flavours of roasty malt, pine, passion fruit, coffee and caramel. Moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. I really enjoyed this.

Bottle. Pours dark brown/ruby red with thin off white/cream head. Nose is sweet milk chocolate, fruity ale notes, tiny touch of coffee mocha on the deep draw. Taste is sweet malt, some hop bitterness, bit of ale fruitiness, English caramel malt character, bit of coffee roast bitterness. Not a big Mild fan but this is one of the most flavoursome I’ve had.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours a foggy, light brown with a soft, off-white head. Aroma is lots of dry, roasty coffee, subtle baking cocoa. Light to medium sweet flavor, mocha, very dry roastiness, cacao. There’s also a touch of resinous pine. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Sharpish, dryish finish, dry roasted coffee on the sides of the tongue, light sugar, light mocha, very bittersweet. Great beer.
