Straight laced liquorice nose. Auburgine sheen. Comforting porter palate fronted by an initial murky cocoa roll, with a dusty finish. Stern work. (Cask, Bow Bar, Edinburgh (Winter Beer Festival))

On cask at the Bow Bar Beer Festival, 2012. Pours a very dark brown colour with a ruby tinge and a creamy light tan head. Lovely aroma of plum pudding, brandy, coffee and chocolate. Flavours of roasty malt, coffee, bitter dark rum and raisin chocolate and liquorice. Mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Very tasty with lingering roasty malt and liqueur chocolates.
