Cask at the Cask, Pimlico, 18/01/13. Clear dark amber with an off white head that clears to the edge. Nose is malt, biscuit, fruits, light spice. Taste comprises malt, biscuit, earthy tones, woody note, apples, bramble bush, toffee. Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a bitter dry finish. Ok stuff.

Smell of whiskey, very malty. A deep hearty beer which I could drink again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask @ Craft. The pour’s deep brown with a small head. The nose is some nuts, toffee, chocolate and earthy twigs. The taste is earthy malts, berry, more runny toffee and hints of tobacco. Soft body. OK, but nothing special. One of Redemption’s lesser beers on this showing.

Really malty for the style, quite biscuity with a strong hint of yeast. Full-bodied palate, enjoyable bitter.

Cask at the Volunteer NW1. Rich brown colour, not much of a head. Very tasty malty beer, initially sweetish with toffee, nuts, bread maybe hint of kvass, then a decent drier finish to balance out. Interesting and flavoursome, I had a couple.

Handpull at The Blackfriar. Clear deep refractive burnt copper pour with a smallish frothy beige head. Aroma of burnt toast, grain and maybe grapes? Taste follows, add a litle well-cooked bacon and alcohol. Slick, light, mildly carbonated with a quick finish and so much odd going on, I still loved it!
