2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hop Devil Grill, NY tap ($7): Pours copper with a white head. Aroma is a modicum of hops along with some pale malt. Taste is forgettable. Really, that is the best way to describe this. I guess they teamed up with Dan Patrick to make the lamest beer they could.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Crystal clear orange yellow with a small head and hardly any lace. Grainy malt aromas and a somewhat harsh toasted malt sweetness on the palate. Light body, generous carbonation, sticky thick mouthfeel, and a lingering grainy finish. Bonus points for the shout-outs to DPís callers under the bottle caps, but otherwise a pretty unremarkable beer.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A session beer that seems a little lacking. Poured golden amber with little head and virtually no lacing. Not getting much aroma from it, taste is slightly bitter with a sweet palate. However, I think it fits its intended purpose, a session beer of little note while others around swill ullage from Budweiser.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft. Pours a clear light amber. Aroma of light citrus and pine. Taste is light bitter. Meh, this is sub-par even for red hook.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Classic pale ale aroma of piney hops with some sweet caramel malts, though somewhat weak. Also a bit of popcorn, which is odd - I rarely encounter that except in some types of lagers. Head is smallish, but lacing is a little better. Tastes like popcorn. Thatís about it. A popcorn beer. Far too light-bodied for the pale ale style. Hop profile is also very low. I see even the ABV is low - 4.7% for a pale ale? Itís not a bad beer taste-wise per se, do not get me wrong, but for the style, this is not a good example of an APA at all. Mr. Patrick might want to stick to pale lagers, because judging by this beer, he must have thought SNPA was a little too strong for him.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
From the 12 fl. oz bottle. It pours light golden amber with a moderate white head that fizzles down. The aroma is vibrant with toasted bread, pale malts, and earth tone hops. The body is smooth and medium. The taste is balanced overall with a notable lingering hoppiness at the end. Decent beer.
