From the 12 fl. oz bottle. It pours light golden amber with a moderate white head that fizzles down. The aroma is vibrant with toasted bread, pale malts, and earth tone hops. The body is smooth and medium. The taste is balanced overall with a notable lingering hoppiness at the end. Decent beer.

3/22/13. On tap at Props. Clear light amber pour with a frothy off-white head. Mild soapy tropical aroma with some pale malts. Light laid back fruity flavor as well. Meh.

12 oz bottle from a six pack. Dan Patrick...brewer? Okay...Pours filtered copper with a collapsing off-white head. Aroma is pretty neutral, but some caramel notes come out as it warms. Not smelling very hoppy, sadly. Taste is sweet with a bitter edge. Flavor is a little corny, bland, caramel a little bit. Body thin, texture watery. I understand they’re trying to make a sessionable beer here, but there’s more flavor available to a talented brewer who wants to make a low alcohol beer. This is super boring and not hop-forward the way I like an APA. I always feel guilty breaking a six pack to buy one single beer to rate so I don’t usually do that with craft beer anymore. I went ahead and bought a six pack of this, though. Doh! According to Papazian, this isn’t true craft beer, though. I should have thought of that.

Tap, local Applebee’s. Pours a clear light gold body with a small fizzy white head that retained as a thin covering. The nose is an immediate turn-off. Smells like movie theatre popcorn butter with just the lightest hint of floral hops and pale malt. Mostly just butter though. The flavor is dominated by the diacetyl as well, especially up front. There’s a light bitterness on the back end trying to push past the diacetyl but it doesn’t succeed especially well. Light bodied and a bit clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. This beer is pretty terrible. If I were Dan Patrick I’d hide and stay out of public. Yuck.

Clean and soft amber pour with one finger of off white head. Soft nose, lightly floral with some toasted grain. Grassy with a soft bitterness and zesty citrus rind quality. Light bodied and a touch dry.

Draft at RR Street. Pours translucent gold with white head. Nose is lemongrassy citrus, hops, bready pale malt. Tastes uninspired as it smells, and is something I;d leave a case of for the maids like the last time I overbought Red Hook beer while in a htel.

Tap at the Pour House. Pour a nice light amber with a thick white head. Light grassy hop aroma. Medium body with nice malt and touch of hop taste. Crushable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Rhinehaus, served in a pint glass. I ordered it because I didn’t recognize the name or microphone tap handle. Good marketing, I guess. Pours a clear gold with lots of bubbles and a finger of white head. Aroma of pale malts, crackers, straw, and grassy hops. Flavor is the same. Light-bodied, with a dry, crisp mouthfeel and high carbonation. Drinks like a lager more than an ale. Very, very restrained hop character. Sorry, don’t quit your day job, Dan Patrick.

Draft at the Carolina Hurricanes game. Meh... Alright, but expected more from the hook. Not much character. Since it’s from the DP show its probably a creature of DP and Paulie, the blandest of the bunch.
