2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. bottled June 8 2013. Pours a clear orange-golden with a head that almost immediately sizzles away to the stratosphere. Mild nose of toffee, dried leaf and light citrus. Tastes of zesty orange and lime, maize, toast, dry leaf and a touch of resin. Light body has low carbonation and is sweetish but balanced by a crisp finish. Could pass for a slightly hopped-up amber lager in a pinch.

Ugh, pretty much instantly forgettable. Very thin, timid hops, papery, stale malts. Pointless.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Type: 22-oz. can
Glass: Karl Strauss pint glass
From: Pacific Liquor at Renaissance at North Park (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $2.50 (if two Red Hooks were purchased)
Purchased: June 28, 2013
Consumed: June 28, 2013
Misc.: Born on date of April 9, 2013
Poured a caramel orange clear color with 2-3 fingers of frothy white head. Below average lacing on the sides of the glass. Good retention on the top though.
Initially smelled a pleasant mix of floral hops, citrus hops, lime, lemon, ginger, wheat, yeast and pine.
Tasted pretty close to the smell with a little bit more bitterness. Could definitely tell it was a Redhook though. Got that mix of citrus and floral hops. Also lime, lemon, pine, ginger, Ginger Ale, Sprite and some wheat.
Light body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Bitter finish.
Surprisingly I liked this beer much better than I thought I was going to. I don’t know if I’d buy it again, but I wouldn’t say no to an offer.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 5/20
Thin white head with NO aromatics. I suppose if thos is meant to be a Bridge Beer it would be an option for someone not used to any complexity but wanting to join the Craft Appreciation crowd. Overall very boring.

quite a bit of citrus on the nose .. . pours a deep orange .. . easy head ring, mild foam .. . a simple beer, but i love the approach- i’d drink a sixer of this during a game, then i’d probably switch to a hefty white russian or two .. . . . absolute true story- my friend Judes was eating olives that expired over 4 1/2 years ago, and
she continued to eat them. for weeks...
