3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, shared with Parksy. Red orange, dense creamy head. Ripe tropical fruit aroma, papaya and mango, with some cooked peach and caramel. Sweet caramel and peachy fruity hops, not as bitter as I expected, but tasty nonetheless.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22-Jul-10 (22-oz bottle: Purchased for $4.29 at BevMo in San Diego/Mission Valley, CA) Big Ballard pours hazy orange-gold with a thick, off-white head, settling from one inch to a persistent quarter-inch layer. Orange citrus, stone fruits, grass and dust in the nose. Malts are sweet on the palate with grainy and caramely flavors while the hops offers flavors of tangerine, pine, grass, and a lingering, medium-intensity bitterness. Dusty on the palate, with medium-full body, moderate carbonation, a dry finish, and a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Intricate lacing covers much of the glass and does not dissipate. Because this is a Redhook product, and it isn’t a big, massive, in-your-face Double IPA, many people will probably scoff at this beer. Let them! This is beautifully balanced, exceptionally drinkable, and quite delicious too.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber from BevMo Salinas. Nose is citrus, floral, and lightly sweet caramel malt. Claer orange with a small beige head. Flavor is light bitterness, light sweetness, lightly spicy with a hint of bubblegum. Tastes better than the nose.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber. Pours cloudy dark gold with a 2 finger off-white head. The nose is sweet malt and light citrus. The taste is earthy hops, caramel and some resin in the finish that lingers for a bit. Medium mouthfeel. OK offering from Redhook.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Amber color - pine and citrus hops. Very hop forward, not near the malt backbone of most DIPAs. Not great, but much better than Redhook’s normal IPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Amber in color with a decent sized off-white head. ARoma is of light grapefruit, orange, and malt. Taste is the same...nothing special, but not bad either.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a lighter amber color with some cloudiness. Aroma definitely has hops present up front with orange peels, citrus, and malts. Flavor is pretty much the same. Leaves a citrus and hop finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Orangeish pour with a foamy head. Aroma of sweet malt and spicy and citrusy hops. Flavor is more of the same. A good, but sort of one dimensional brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a nice light orange with slight haze. The white head leaves a cover on the beer and collars the glass. Aroma has lots of grass, like a fresh meadow. The malt is also very present in the nose. Althought the mouthfeel starts relatively full and yeasty, if falls off quickly and it a little watery on the finish. This is a nice beer, with a little harsh bitterness on the end of the finish. I don’t get too much hops on this for a double -- and those i get are a harsh bite of bitterness.
