3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
overall, not bad. Good color, but flat head. Nice roasted/toasted malt. Could use more complexity, a very common porter flavor...

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger and a half of off-white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel with some roasted grains and hints of chocolate and dark fruits. Taste is a caramel and chocolate malty sweetness with a roasted grain and grassy hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, a pretty decent porter that suits the style well and recommended to sample.

3.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled 1/28/16, Enjoyed 6/12/16. Eye-widening coffee smell from the bottle with a hint of toffee and caramel; pours a clear deep brown with some head. Medium body with a delicious yet robust chocolatey, coffee taste throughout layered with equal amounts of cereal and malt. Slightly bitter notes finish the taste, although the beer remains smooth and robust with a rich, roasted character. Certainly somewhere between an English Porter and an Irish Stout, very representative of an American Porter. A delightful introduction to the world of dark beers.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with a bottling date of Feb 11, 2016. Opaque brown pour with a modest, short-lived head. A bit of chocolate malts on the nose and maybe a little scorched butterscotch and soap. Light to medium body but smooth. Same chocolate and dark malt flavors with a mild bitterness but otherwise low hop taste.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz single bottle from Wilburís Total Beverage. Brown/black appearance with a lacy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, bread and dark malts with hints of vanilla and toasted coconut. Similar flavor, dark, grainy and bittersweet. Light to medium body, a little thin, but not bad overall.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Solid black appearance with a large beige head that disappeared quickly and left light lacing. Initially the aroma held promise as roasted malts provided hints of coffee and dark bread. The taste also had some promise from the earthy malts and dark fruit. Whatís lacking is depth as everything seems to fade pretty rapidly, from the aroma and the flavor to the body. Fortunately, itís not expensive and I can see where people who like Guinness might like this as well.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Light at the start, building to a roasty malt with toast and coffee. Smooth, but lacking in body. Not bad, but a bit weak.

FLAVOR: Generic dark malt flavor. Not sweet. Noticeable dry bitterness. Faint burnt aftertaste. Mild dark fruit presence. Pretty boring palette overall. 10/20
MOUTHFEEL: Medium body. Decent CO2 level. Light astringent aftertaste. 3/5
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Unimpressed. Tastes very macro and tame. Drinkable but not very enjoyable.6/10

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pour in a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is a decent char malt with some treacle. Flavor is again a char malt with some ashy bitterness. Not much of a hardy malt presence but it is more of an old world porter rather than Americanized take on the style. I can remember having this beer like 20 years ago. Itís nice to see the different takes newer brewers have on this style.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Really nice, very dark brown, almost black. Absolutely no head. Aroma was kind of weak. Whiffs of burnt grains and toast. Taste was somewhat better. Tasted of dark roast grains with very light hints of mocha. Weak upfront, roasted grains in the middle, light ashy bitterness in the finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap. Served a deep brown color with nice thick head that faded slowly. Aroma of toasted malts and nuts. Taste of roasted malts and some nuttiness. Fair bitterness and a dry finish. Moderate body, a bit watery for a porter with a bit of grittiness. Not a bad English Porter, just a bit short on character.
