Creamy beige head leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Roasted chocolate Malt flavor balanced with hops. Perhaps not enough cholate malt and too much hopping. I was hoping to taste more of a chocolate malt character.

"one of the more boring porters i’ve had, not that i’m surprised, given the brewer. it was worth a shot, though. nothing unpleasant, nothing impressive, just a boring beer."

Draught at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown color with a very small tan head on it. Nose is very roasty, almost to the point of seeming entirely like a chilled coffee. Taste is also quite roasty and slightly bitter, but has a really pleasant hint of chocolate coming through. Really enjoyable beer.

Draft wob CAP HILL. SLIGHTLY roasty, chocolate, malty molasses aroma. Texture is slightly creamy, pronounced bitterness. Flavor is roasted coffee and black malt, bitter and drying on the tongue in the finish l. Alcohol is not noticeable, body is full throughout. Overall very enjoyable Sessionable dark ale.

Had a pint at the Redhook Brewery. A standard porter in color and taste, dark brown and medium, but was disappointed especially in the head: very thin, weak khaki. All in all, I thought it fell somewhat short of what a good porter should be.

Pours a very dark brown. A pretty solid porter with lots of roasty malts, but lacking when it comes to body.

On tap for growler fills at Half Time. Pours a thin black to brown, caramel soda sort of color. Empty malt, light roast and toast, caramel. Low carbonation, thin and roasty. Coffee and roast. Dull and lackluster. Long sad toast and roast finish.
