COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Redhook Blonde combines the best attributes of a flavorful golden ale with the refreshing qualities of a lager. The ale is brewed with three different malts and two hop varietals. Lightly roasted barley and a touch of wheat, combined with an ample portion of hops, creates a truly crowd pleasing beer . Redhook Blonde pairs well with medium flavored foods such as fish, nachos or salad. Available year round.

Had this beer on 10/21/2000. Aroma is a fruity malt scent. Color is a bright gold with good carbonation, a thin head and a light amount of shit flouting around. Taste is light with a slight sour hint. Starting with a light body it goes down smooth. Finish is a sour flavor followed by a mild bitterness. In the end its just not all that good.

Golden/orangish body, with a quickly-dissipating head. Hardly any lace. Somewhat musty aroma. Roasted grain and very mild banana flavor, with an acrid hop lurking in the background. Some wheat in the finish, which adds a bit of creaminess. Good carbonation, weight, and smoothness. Overall, this isn’t too bad of a beer, but I wish the aroma was a bit more inviting.

Draft at the Woodinville brewpub. Pours crystal clear medium amber, almost indistinguishable in appearance and aroma from the Sun Rye. Scant white head. Neutral nose, very light body and attack--soft carb, and a sweet, almost corny body. No finish. Not much of a start or a middle, either, come to think of it.

Bottle. Very average light ale. Golden yellow in color, fizzy head, grassy-hoppy aroma. Tasting resolved very little hops with a touch of sweetness. All this adds up to a very drinkable Summer beer in my book; the kind you can drink all day long at a picnic.

VERY average, even for an average type. Commercial description says "Subtle hops," and I actually laughed at the bartender when he said some people don’t like this beer because it is too hoppy -- I guess that reflects poorly on the average American beer drinker. I do feel like I could drink this all night, though, so it’s not too bad.

Golden and bubbly. Mildly sweet malty aroma. Flavor is a little bready, biscuity, and lightly fruity in the finish.

Bottle during a BJCP training session. Clear golden body with a medium creamy white head with good retention. Sweet malty aroma, some toastiness. Sweet malty flavor, some toastiness and biscuit. Light grainy. Medium body but fairly smooth.

Surprised I hadn’t ever rated this. Part of BJCP training session, courtesy of maniac’s Greater Richmond Beer Hunting Expedition of 2007. Medium gold, good head. Aroma very faintly of honey malt. Gently malt flavor, very faint honey note. Hop bitterness on the finish, but no hops present in flavor. Inoffensive, which I guess was the goal here.
