COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Redhook Blonde combines the best attributes of a flavorful golden ale with the refreshing qualities of a lager. The ale is brewed with three different malts and two hop varietals. Lightly roasted barley and a touch of wheat, combined with an ample portion of hops, creates a truly crowd pleasing beer . Redhook Blonde pairs well with medium flavored foods such as fish, nachos or salad. Available year round.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2004 Bottle. Pours a pretty dark golden color with a thin white head that disappeared quickly. Aroma is lager-like, sweet maltiness, some hops a touch of skunk. Flavor is richer than expected, sweet and malty with balancing hop bitterness but a slight metallic taste in the finish brought it down a notch. Medium body and pleasant carbonation make for a nice mouthfeel.

Although I'm not a huge fan of lighter beers, this one was fairly pleasant, although it isn't what I usually go for.

Pours a pale, yellow with decent head and lacing.Aroma is of malt and--surprise--some hops. Hops hit you at first sip but then fades away quickly. Can taste some malt, but the body is a little thin.Decent stuff, better than RedHook Blackenhook, but nothing to brag about either.

This one looks like it wouldn't scare off a BMC drinker and the aroma and taste probably wouldn't either. It's probably a good Blonde Ale and I just prefer something more robust. Decent but very unexciting.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2004 Bottle pours a translucent yellow with a fine bubbly frothy white head. I am somewhat amazed at the amount of head and lacing of this brew. Slight hints of sweetened straw and grains. Mouthfeel has a bit of malty chewiness, somewhat wheat like. The hops are very subtle. I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. Great for a summer day.

Bottled, New York. Amber with a fine white head. Vanilla and oak notes that pervade the entire beer from the aromatics to the palate and all the flavour in between.

Nice golden appearance but thats about it. Has a slightly skunky aftertaste (tried two batches both bottled within a month of serving) and it is too carbonated. Seemingly RH's attempt at increasing sales with a mainstream brew. Very blah and uneventful. I wouldn't turn this down at a friends home, but I wouldn't buy it again either. Too bad -- I like some of RH's other brews...

Golden appearance, nice lasting white head. Nothing jumps out at me as being special in the taste category. Tad hoppy finish. Unoffensive, middle of the road beer. Don't expect to be wowed by this beer, but it's respectable and satisfying.
