Redhook Blonde combines the best attributes of a flavorful golden ale with the refreshing qualities of a lager. The ale is brewed with three different malts and two hop varietals. Lightly roasted barley and a touch of wheat, combined with an ample portion of hops, creates a truly crowd pleasing beer . Redhook Blonde pairs well with medium flavored foods such as fish, nachos or salad. Available year round.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2003 This beer rocks. This beer so desperately wants to be BASS, but comes up just a bit short in almost every category. Still, an excellent blond ale. Try one... try six, I hear the business end of Redhook isn't doing so well right now.

Bottle from a trade...finally decided to open it as my last beer for the weekend. Amberish pour with a small white head. Aroma is a fair balance of yeast, malt and some hops. Flavor has some grain, yeast, malt and slight hops. Not bad but fairly boring.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of Alraomon, Thanks! Pours a golden amber color with a thin fizzy head. Aroma is weak, but shows grainy and sweet malty notes. Taste is grain, honey, mild hop notes. Thin-medium bodied.

Draught version. Golden colored with a medium head that lasted fairly long, also lively carbonation. Sweet yeasty/citrusy aroma that bordered on a German Wheat. Light and refreshing if a little on the sweet side. I did enjoy this one somewhat, but mostly because I got it on tap. I’m not sure how well this would translate to a bottle.

Pours gold, with medium head/lace. Aroma of malt, some hops, some floral/spice. Tastes of malt, slight hops and fruit, and slight honey. Finishes fairly smooth and crisp.

Tap, Pour 24, Las Vegas, Nevada. Dusty yellow with a scant white halo. Heavy diacetyl aroma with underlying hop greenery and..banana? Fizzy and brain-chillingly cold with notes of lemon jelly, biscuit and butter. Some orange and lychee on the belch. Not loved or looked after. Probably much better than this.

Pours hazy yellow with white head, aroma of a touch of esters, grassy hops, straw. Taste is some light fruit, grass, sweet pils malt, slightly dry finish. Not bad, but nothing really good about it.

Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is clear medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers), with a fairly strong note of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. DMS-laden aroma with a dirty aftertaste, what more could you ask for?
