Dark black in color, clear with a thin head. Nice dark malts and light chocolaty flavors. Slick with oats and this was very tasty and warmed up nicely. A very good beer by Red Hook.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Harry & David in Medford, OR. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Rich heavily roasted malt aroma. Med body. Foamy carb. Flavor is less than burnt, then suddenly pretty burnt malt. Hop? Thereís enough burnt malt bitter. Iím thinking this is a shot at classic Guinness. Lots of moderately burnt malt in the finish, with less than significant chocolate. Drinks nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2013 Bomber bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Pours black, shows faint red highlights when held up to the light. Has a dissipating smallish beige head. Smells sugary and roasted; fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Taste is mostly sweet; has a faintly dry bitter finish. Piney hops come out after a good belch. Carbonation is fairly soft, body is too thin. Itís decent, but nothing special.

P: Med-full body, med-low carb, long creamy finish. Slight roasty astringency.
O: Tasty beer, especially at $3.79 and from Redhook. Iíd drink it again.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle- Pours almost black with a thin tan head that reduces almost immediately. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, but pretty boring. The taste is roasted chocolate malt, moderately bitter, coffee. Body is medium, bitterness coats the mouth, carbonation is medium. Overall a standard stout, blending the lines of two types of stouts, sweet and foreign export, tasty.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Curious stout. Like a strong and dry sweet stout, plus some other twists. Lofty tan head over deep brown-black. Coffee-with-cream nose. Creamy-smooth texture; kind of dry in the finish. Zingy hops and a sour, acidic bite up front. Milk chocolate, bitter roast and wood follow. Finishes with faint iron and a peppery bitterness. Overall, it wasnít bad, but it deviates a bit too far from what I like in stouts (regardless of the stout sub-style).

On draft at Redhook in Woodinville. Mild roast and toasted burnt bread. Mild chocolate and some biscuity notes. A bit thin for a stout but had some nice roast qualities.

Sweet, milky, choco-roast aroma. Good bottle, dark brew with a brownish head. Sweet, smooth, not very bitter at all, chocolate and sugar tones. Medium-heavy mouthfeel, fairly quick roast finish with some chemical hop notes. Meh. Thanks to LuckyDog for bringing this back from somewhere or another. Probably Washington.
