3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Chalky coffee aroma. Chocolate. Cream. Pours black, minimal ring of tan head. Thin mouthfeel. A little metallic. Taste of watered down diner coffee. Chocolate finish.
Overall: disappointing like so many cheap diner coffees.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 oz bottle, probably a year old, served in a tulip glass. Pours dark inky brown with medium thick body and creamy brown head. Aroma is chocolately dark roasted malt and sweet espresso on the finish. Taste is smooth rich roasty malts, mild dark chocoate sweetness, subtle coffee flavor, and sharp spicy hops bring bitter balance to the finish. A really rich tasty brew; belies the fact that it’s only 7%. I think this has been retired for a while now, which is a real shame - shows what Redhook is capable of and is way better that most of what they’re brewing these days.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle- Pours black with a one finger dark tan head that is reducing fairly quickly. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate, could be more assertive. The taste is the same as the aroma, the coffee they used is high grade, good. The body could be fuller, but the carbonation is spot on. Overall this is a good coffee stout, not the best out there, but not bad.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a pitch black color with a fluffy khaki head with light lacing. Smells of chocolate caramel and coffee. Tastes of all the same things I mentioned in the smell with plus vanilla. The coffee comes out more in the flavor. Mouthfeel is light and watery. Overall this is one of the better tasting beers I’ve tried from their blueline series.
