3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours dark drown with a white head that leaves some lacing.
Smells like a typical pumpkin beer with some slight smokiness.
Tastes slight pumpkin flavors but predominantly roasted malts and some coffee notes. Much less sweet than you would expect from a pumpkin beer brewed with maple syrup. The maple flavor is almost non-existent.
Mouthfeel-medium body, next to no carbonation.
Overall- This beer is ok but it wasnt what I was looking for when I wanted a pumpkin beer. If you want pumpkin flavor stick to the traditional ales.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle - Pours very dark brown and smells of roast malt and pumpkin spices. It tastes of dark roast malt, nutmeg, and pumpkin. It’s light for a porter, kind of thin actually, but has a decent flavor.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Transfer from BA review on 9-27-13-
Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a very dark brown color with a small tan colored head. The head fades rather fast, leaving behind a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is largest of a pumpkin smell mixed with some moderate spice aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg. Mixed with these aromas are some light maple syrup and caramel smells as well as a bit of a roasted malt and coffee aromas.
Taste – The taste begins with on the drier side with just a bit of a caramel taste. Upfront the bulk of the taste is dominated by a mix of pumpkin and roasted malt flavors with a decent showing of cinnamon. As the taste moves on the flavors become more spiced and roasted as other spices of ginger and nutmeg come to the tongue along with a lighter coffee taste. In the end some of the maple syrup that was detected in the nose is discernable on the tongue, but with the loss of much of the caramel that taste is still rather dry. In the end the mix of flavors ends up leaving a drier and lightly burnt spiced pumpkin puree flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the lighter and slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that was average. A thicker and creamier body would have been much nicer for the brew as it could have supported the blend of roast and pumpkin much better.
Overall – A rather dry pumpkin porter with a decent flavor. When looking for something not too sweet with a decent pumpkin and roasted flavor then this is a pretty nice choice.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. I really like this ... a prototypically-looking porter pour, along with a good Brittanic mouthfeel and appeal. Add on a nice, autumnal vegetative aspect, and this is among the better fall beers I’ve sampled lately. Love it. (#5288, 10/13/2013)

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Totally lacks on pumpkin flavor and aroma. Mostly just an ordinary porter, with a pinch of pumpkin. Good choice if you love porters, and want a slight change without any commitment.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sampled at the 2013 Artisans Craft Beer Festival. The beer poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of chocolate, coffee, pumpkin and spices. The taste was similar to the aroma with a bit more pumpkin, cinnamon, chocolate and a little roasted coffee. Good stuff.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled 8/1/13. Poured 8/20/13. Dark brown with a thin, bubbly light brown head. Aroma is sweet, biscuit, pumpkin pie spice, grass, bread, some spice, syrup. Taste is dry, more bitter than 20 IBUs; pumpkin pie spice, grass, fruit peel, bread, some sweetness (brown sugar?); finish is lingering and bitter. Mouth feel is chewy and coating. Some light lacing. Medium-low carbonation. Better than I expected but still nothing to write home about.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Contrary to the commercial description, I picked up a bottle and have seen it numerous places in DE. That being said, it’s decent. It’s kind of thin and slightly watery especially for a porter but pumpkin aroma is nice and the pumpkin stands out in the flavor. It has a very dark porter like pour w/out much of a head & not much lacing. It’s an ok drinkable fall beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a deep black with some light off-whitish colored froth. Distinct aromas of pumpkin spice, most notably cinnamon and nutmeg come through the nose followed by dark roast, and some light caramel. No detectable hop presence in the aroma. Tastes like a light bodied porter that has been laced with old cinnamon and nutmeg. The spices are especially evident in the finish, as it is dry hinting at peppery, and leaves a slight slickness on the tongue perhaps from a bit of diacetyl.
