3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Continuing my ESB streak of the past few days, this is my first sampling from RedHook brewing. I am impressed, fits the style well but also successfully branches out with the American hop varieties rather than the standard English hops. The appearance is a slightly paler and more golden brown color, good head and lacing. Aroma is a little weak, but features caramel maltiness with some brown sugar notes. Flavor features citrus fruit hop flavors paired with rich maltiness, mildly toasty. Just a little thin on the palate, but is still enjoyable. finishes clean and fresh, well done.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours clear bronze amber with a large, full, creamy just off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt and cereal. Taste follows with a nice rich toasted maltiness; sweetness lingers into bitterness and a long, pleasant aftertaste. Some floral hop notes. Crisp, dry. Pretty drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Café Fiasco, Oslo. Has a slightly hazy light orange colour and a small, off-white head. Sweet and fruity aroma with caramel, apricot and some leather. Has a fruity flavour as well with lots of apricot and grassy hops in the end. Slick mouth feel, and has a light to medium bitterness. An easy-drinking and fruity ale.

Pours cloudy amber. Head disappears quickly, little lacing. Aroma of bread, orange, flowers. Taste of caramel malt sweetness, decent earthy hop bitterness. Highly carbonated, light-medium body that finishes sweet. It’s Ok.

Taste is mild red fruits and raisins, berries, caramel and hints of honey melon and grains. Medium body and carbonation. Nice ESB on the fruity side of things.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Somewhat disappointing. Too sweet to be an ESB. The only highlight is a relatively long and good aftertaste.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I used to think that Red Hook was really good beer about 25 years ago, my tastes have really changed since then. 12 oz. bottle, pours light amber/orange with a slight head that quickly evaporates, no lacing. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, grain, slightly floral. Has some bread notes on the flavor, pretty aggressive bitterness but in the range for the style. Finish is quite bitter and dry. Highly carbonated, which accentuates the sharp bitterness. Seems to be a one trick pony, not for me.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
I had this at Global Brew. Pours amberish with a white head. Taste bitter, malt, floral. I thought this was so so. I would skip this down the road.
