COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Redhook ESB is modeled after the premium Extra Special Bitters found in English pubs. Brewed since 1987, this full-bodied amber ale is Redhook’s signature brew with its toasted malt flavor and pleasant finishing sweetness. Its eminently drinkable style has established Redhook ESB as a benchmark brew in the amber ale category. The well-rounded finish of Redhook ESB makes it a wonderful companion to grilled meats. It is also great with game and cheeses. Available year round.

Nothing stood out for this beer. I would classify it in the Pale range..... bordering on bitter. Just not much flavor and heavy carbonation.

Pours a clear copper color from the bottle with a thin white, lacey head and moderate lacing. Aroma of pale malts and slight toffee. Taste of fresh grains and malts, clean bitter finish. Decent.

Not my favorite ESB, but with that said, its easily drinkable and has a nice finish. For price, it should be a tap beer at pubs as its worth the price. I’d recommend this for new inductees to IPS or stronger beers. You know, the "I only drink Bud or Miller" type. Easy to enjoy a few of these, but ip you want hoppy, ESB beers...this drink is not for you...it’s too girly and mild.

A very nice ESB. Has the malt aroma you would expect and the flavor also has the malt. Caramel, a bit of earth and grass, balanced nicely with just the right amount of bitterness. Long lasting finish.

Not a bad brew. On tap at Indigo’s. Taste and aroma are lightly fruity from a hop presence that I didn’t expect. Light caramel malts and bitter notes all around. A very good drinker and overall an enjoyable brew.

Poured into my pint glass, this was perfect for a Summer Sunday afternoon. Smooth, drinkable and light. A ton of malts on the back end, but with a hop sweetness leading it off. Enjoyed this one.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle, drank from a pint glass. Light ESB with carmel hints and a bitter punch from the hops. A good light beer for the heat. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
