COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Redhook ESB is modeled after the premium Extra Special Bitters found in English pubs. Brewed since 1987, this full-bodied amber ale is Redhook’s signature brew with its toasted malt flavor and pleasant finishing sweetness. Its eminently drinkable style has established Redhook ESB as a benchmark brew in the amber ale category. The well-rounded finish of Redhook ESB makes it a wonderful companion to grilled meats. Nice clear copper color with fading head. Seemed a bit thin, but I had an SN Pale Ale before it. I like the hop finish, but it could be a bit better. This is a very easy to drink beer. It has a great maltiness and slight alcoholic bite. Very enjoyable.

Very clean and crisp. Almost no aftertaste. Refreshing to the extreme, tasty and overall a great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice copper colour and a small offwhite head. Very faint aroma with a little bit of hops and some citrus. Taste is good, however. Starts with some bitterness and then turns into sweeter tones. Hints of bubblegum flavours. Mouthfeel is weak in the beginning but when it gets mixed with the carbonation it has really nice soft and tingly feel. It’s a very nice beer.

355ml bottle from Tasty Life, Xiamen. Pours hazy golden amber with a thin white head. Aroma is floral orange, malty with some pine. Sweet finish.

Botle: nothing too exciting, which is exactly what I expected. Bready... Malty... Boring.

355ml embossed stubby bottle. Amer/gold unfiltered olor, forhty 1 finger head. Herbal, bready nose. Flavor is sticky bready, not the worst beer but pretty lame for the style.

Pours a nice golden amber with 2 finger head. Aroma of malt, and a bit of pine. Flavor matches aroma, low bitterness and sweet. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Kind of watery and flavor doesn’t linger.

Btl pours a hazy dull, pale amber color. Big,thick, soapy off white head that vanished quickly leaving bits of lace on glass. Smells fruity, with a hint of breadiness,a bit of earth and minerals. Tastes of sweet caramel, bread and a touch of herbal hops. Smooth almost watery mouthfeel, average carbonation, light body and a soft, slightly bitter finish. This is a decent beer that is easy to swallow. Unfortunately this beer is nothing special, just an average offering. Boring!!!!

Sample from bottle at Vecturamesse. Brown colour, Some caramel in aroma and flavour. The flavour is otherwise too bland for an ESB, with too moderate hops. Will re-rate when I get a full bottle.
