This was not as good of a beer as I thought it would be. It poured a nice orange color with a thick white head. It was a little too hoppy for the style and that is what made it less appealing to me.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2004 WHAt the fu... Somehow it appears i rated this a 5 out of 5. Nice foamy head, lots of lacing on the glass, decent malt and hops for redhook. Went well with buffalo wings.

Special draught at Old Chicago. Sweet, hoppy and fruity aroma. Decent lace, very little head (must be the glass). Somewhat cloudy body. Reddish, orange, amber in color. Head fully disappates. Sweet and hoppy flavor. Tastes like it smells. Nice and drinkable. A little unrefined, but a pleasure to drink, especially during the malt dominated Oktoberfest season.

2003 on tap at Ray's in Kent, OH. Starts somewhat sweet, caramel, smooth. Gets hoppy towards the finish.

Draught: Had this at the NH Brewery. The beer was a Reddish-Amber color. It was fairly clear. There was a bit of a light tan head, that quickly dissapated. Caramel in the nose, along with hints of grapefruity hops and pine. The taste is a bit sweet, mainly of caramel with a fairly decent hop bitterness. Not bad!

Pours a deep amber/reddish color with a small tan head that mostly diminishes, leaving small lacing. Aroma is mostly sweet, lots of caramel, backed with a slight hoppiness. Flavor is dominated by caramel, a slight breadiness shows as well, and a mild hoppiness finishes it all off. Medium body, easy drinking.

nothing special about this very hoppy and somewhat strange tasting ale. I have had alot better october beers, but this will do when nothing else is available.

On draught at the Winking Lizard Tavern in Columbus, OH. This beer is an orange-red color with a medium light beige head. Aroma is very sweet malt and caramel. More rich that I was expecting, with an almost syrupy texture. The flavor leans to the sweet side as well, with lots of malt and caramel. Luckily there is enough hops in the finish to keep it from going overboard, but I think it would be a lot better with more hops in the flavor to counterbalance the sweet side.

Pours with an amber body topped by a thin off-white head with some lacing. Slighlty sweet malty aroma with a touch of graininess and some hoppiness. Well balanced flavor leaning towards hoppy with a slight bitterness. Light to medium bodied and smooth.
