From Draft: I actually thought this was pretty good. The citrus hop aroma was pretty strong. I immediately thought of the amarillo hops I had just used when brewing last week.

From bottle. Pours a dark yellow with tight white head. Aroma and flavor are both on the light side, mild citrus and malt. Acrid aftertaste really brings it down.

Pours a hazy gold color. Aroma is citrus hops mainly orange and caramel malt. Taste is citrus hops and mild malt with flavor. An average IPA.

Had this many times but finally getting around to rating it after having it again over New Years. Seems like a pretty unremarkable mirco IPA... decent beer, but most places that have this on tap have much better.

#973, on tap at The Esquire in Champaign Illinois. Nearly yellowish golden with a medium sized medium lasting white head. Nose is pretty hoppy with some pine and evergreen. The taste is slightly stale but still rather hoppy with a bland maltness to it. It is strange becuase I wonder how this beer would do against a blind taste test. I have had a couple IPAs that tasted a lot like this yet they are rated much higher than this. Overall, pretty good IMO,

I home brew most of my IPA’s. But when I need a good, solid choice from the grocery store, I’ll usually pick up Red Hook.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2006 I used to drink Redhook alot, now less and less. The alcohol is present here, overpowering given the absense of flavor which makes the beer harsh.

gives you a vague notion of what an ipa tastes like without the character and quality of its better breathren.
