This one has a glimmer of citrusy hops but its bathed in water and drowned out. I’ll give it a bonus point for a flowery aroma associated with its taste.

On tap at Auntie’s on the Big Island of Hawaii. Seemed a little pale for an IPA, with a rich gold color and a nice off-white head. Aroma was noticeably hoppy, and a strange hint of tree bark. Not particularly bitter, a dry malty body and a little lingering bitterness. A crisp, tingly, lacking body.

Bottle served at Claim Jumper, Lombard, IL. Hop smell is a little bit light in the bottle. Pours pretty pale. In a shaker, it raises a big head that needs to settle for a while. Up close, I get a better hoppy smell, but the taste is nowhere near as hoppy as, say, the RB Powerhouse Pale I rated before this one. Recognizably northwestern hops, but not a lot. Perhaps better matched by the malts in this one.

Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting off white head. Aromas of straw, light carmel, lemon rind and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied. Flavors of bread, straw, light carmel and a hint of citrus with a crisp lightly bitter finish. A very boring IPA!!!

Bottle. Gold in color. Two finger head with an agressive pour. Nice nose, a bit of a citrus aroma. Very well balanced taste. Not representative of a true IPA. There is no oak or woody flavor. Finishes clean. Very easy to drink. It seems most of Red Hook’s ales are middle of the road, good for introducing someone to the world of GOOD beer.

this was my first venture into the world of IPA. A really smooth hoppy beer. The clear body threw me off a little but the taste definately hits the spot. I cant wait to try more IPA.

Bottle. Pours with a dark yellow hue, small but bubbly head that quickly diminishes. Decent flavor with some grapefruit taste, some orange, citrus hints, bitter aftertaste. Easily drinkable.
