This beer has a woody aroma and a bronzed appearance. The bitterness is quite nice and comparable in this attribute to Redhook’s own ESB as well as the woody taste that is present in many of the brewers offerings. A rather refreshing beer.

Mellow, citrusy, hoppy. Interesting hop combo. Smooth palate.

I wonder about this beer and whether or not it has changed. I wonder about my older rating that pronounced it as rather bitter. I wonder about other ratings here that pronounced it bitter and hoppy. I wonder about the comparison to Bigfoot below, esp in terms of dark color and strong hopping. I wonder, I wonder. Because I just bought a fresh bottle of it and here’s what it was: Light golden color, with a large creamy head. Very mild citric hop aroma with a little clean malt in the nose too. Flavor is very mildy fruity, and there is a soft bitterness. The hop flavors are very light, and a bit on the grassy side. Fairly crisp, and mainly resembling a pale ale, not an IPA.

A good beer from Red Hook, but the ESB is better.

Normally i don’t like IPAs. I find them way to bitter for my taste. I didn’t like this one either but it’s not for that reason. This just lacked anything. It had a weak hop finish, and a weird creamy mouthfeel. Drinkable, but there are much better out there.

NOT. HOPPY. ENOUGH. This weak pretender to the IPA throne would have never made the trip from England to India.
