NOT. HOPPY. ENOUGH. This weak pretender to the IPA throne would have never made the trip from England to India.

I like the high alcohol content of an IPA, but there is something missing here, like good taste.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2003 I really don't like ipa's but i will give this one the proper respect. Its everything that an ipa should be from a big brewery. Fine job red hook brewery. I now love ipa's so this was not a great one to turn me on to the style, but after a few stone's I'm a huge fan.

Calling hops, calling malt...anybody home. Im looking for some flavor here. Sorry but when I get a Pacific Northwest IPA i need some hops to come through. this just didn’t deliver for me.

not discernably different from SN Bigfoot. Pungent hop flavoring is at least at a tolerable level. Tinted red/copper color, white persistent head, with a very hoppy, earthy aroma. Strong hop flavoring, some maltiness, and somewhat metallic. Not too pleasant.

Hop balanced, astringent. Earthy hop flavours. Light bodied. Needs more malt flavour to balance.

fraternie (843) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 27, 2001
Closer to a fruity pale ale than an IPA as it lacks a strong hop aftertaste typical in the best of this style...flavor is enjoyable though, it is just lacking that kick.
