[Cask at GBBF 2004] An orange beer with no head. The aroma is sweet hoppy while the flavor is very hoppy combined with notes of oranges and hop oils leading to a bitter end.

Bottled. Golden colour and nice white head. Vegetables in aroma. Hoppy fruity flavour with vegetably notes. Pretty "light" IPA, but refreshing at the same time.

Golden color, nice lace. The aroma is light. The body is not too strong, the malt flavor neither, the hopping is ok. Correctly brewed, not extreme, English style IPA.

Golden color; nice creamy head and lace. Smooth, malty, hoppy enough. A good silky Golden Ale.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2006 Golden-bronze colour. Aroma is light mixed toasted malts and woody, slightly grapefruity hop. Lightish body for style with a moderate bitterness, woody notes and a bit of toastiness. Clean, dull, dry finish. (original rating Ar 7, Ap 3, F 6, P 2 O 13 = 3.1)

In 1989, when this beer was still known as Ballard Bitter, and I was almost 21, this was my first microbrew. I was hooked, and eagerly awaited the opportunity to try it again should it ever move back East. My how times have changed!
(draft) Lightly hazed straw body topped by a white head. Aroma is meidum sweet, grapefruit, light biscuit. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, light biscuit, caramel. Light-medium body, some crispness. Good transition beer.
