GJF (480), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Oct 9, 2008 Not great. Not bad. Sweet aroma with a touch of toasted grain. Caramel and apple in the flavor with a spritzy finish. No hop to speak of. A little too spritzy for me. fatguys (65), Wisconsin, USA Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a foamy head that lingers well. The taste is dominated by toasted malts. This wasn’t as hoppy as I expected, but it’s very warm and tasty. If you’re looking for an amber without a lot of hops bite, this would be a good choice. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Oct 7, 2008 Nice appearance definitely. Some hops in the finish. But otherwise, not much to offer. blankboy (3165), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 7, 2008 Bottle (12oz). Pours a clear orange-amber with an average size diminishing fizzy off-white head. Mild aroma of caramel malt, fruit, toasted grain, some earthiness and sweetness -- it’s all very mild and subtle though. Mild, slightly watery flavour of caramel malt, toasted grain, sweet fruit, a bit of spices and a very light bitter finish. Some light, sweet candy-like flavour mixed in there too -- not unpleasant, just a little odd. Average bodied. It’s alright, it’s not bad but it’s nothing special, just a decent Amber-like beer. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Oct 6, 2008 10/06/2008: Redhook Late Harvest Autumn Ale has a vibrant golden amber color (like copper) with a full, dense, ivory-colored head. There is good lacing and an adequate level of carbonation. The aroma is a bit thin with only a marginal amount of caramelly maltiness. The flavor is lightly malty with some brown sugar and a light amount of citrusy hops. There is also a lightly toastiness to it as well that reminds me of dried leaves in the Fall and a faint pineapple-like essence. The finish is slighty dry. This beer has a solid mouthfull and a medium-body. It is very smooth and really does fit the season nicely. This Amber Ale is definitely better than average and is even fairly sessionable. However, I would have liked more of the German Smoked Malt supposedly in the recipe to come through in the delivery...

lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 6, 2008 Clear reddish copper color with a finger of puffy creamy off white head. Slightly metallic amber malt aromas. Slight piney hoppiness and caramel with a cool metallic feel and a bit of nuttiness with enough hops to balance. HighlanderOne (538), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA Oct 5, 2008 Poured from bottle . Gas and malt in aroma. Clear amber, thin tan head. Roasted malt flavor comes through, hops somewhat evident in aftertaste. Good finish. A good beer that could be better. afireinside96 (809), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 5, 2008 From a bottle at KSBF ’08. Amber body with a small head. Nose of spicy noble hops. Bready spicy flavor that I remember being unpleasant but I didn’t write down why. The only beer I dumped all day.
