Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 19, 2008 half asleep, i thought this was another American pale wheat, even after pouring with a moderate colour and white head. instead got a malt play with some hops. A little roast in there, a bit watery, drinkable and not bad for a beverage. zeke626 (302), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jan 4, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours an amber body with slight red tinge and small off-white head. Light malt aroma with a hint of sweetness. Light caramel and citrus flavors with a toasted malt and hop finish. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Dec 25, 2007 12 oz. bottle from Broudy’s in Jax Beach. The label now features an owl. Cool. Poors a nice light copper color with a slight white head. Aroma is light with malts. Taste is a touch of caramel with toasted malts and a hoppy finish. Not all that bad. In fact, sort of good. undsioux7 (553), Cologne, Minnesota, USA Dec 8, 2007 From sampler pack. Amber color. A nice malt flavor but not a whole lot else going on. The best of the sampler pack. Collint (452), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Dec 5, 2007 12/05/07 12 oz bottle from the sampler pack. Pours a small white head and a amber color. Good carbonation and a nice autumn taste. Def a session beer TikiE (360), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Dec 3, 2007 All and all red hook delivers another good beer. Pours a orangish amber color with small head that turns to a liner on top of the beer. Tastes malty with small bitter after taste, but a good bear. kimcgolf (825), Dacula, Georgia, USA Dec 2, 2007 Had on tap in a 20 oz. glass. Poured to a bright copper color with thin off-white head that lingered as a slight skim for most of the glass and left good lacing. Aroma was a malty mix of roasted nuts and dark fruits. Mouthfeel was somewhat tingly due to a good amount of carbonation and the flavor was fairly mutedm, but a pleasant mix of the malted fruit offset slightly by a taste of tangy citrus.
This would make a good session beer. porterhouse (1148), Alna, Maine, USA Nov 28, 2007 (Bottled 8/6/07 from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/augusta/lou’s-beverage-barn/4790.htm target=blank>Lou’s Beverage Barn) Pours clear amber with one finger of biege head that recedes to a thin covering. Aroma of some vanilla, egg and brown sugar. Mouthfeel light-medium full, a little pebbly. Some light, ringy lacing. Flavor is mostly some mild malty notes (vanilla, caramel, egg) with a light bitterness overlaying and carrying through finish. Not the most exciting beer but certainly not bad.
