Pours a orangish amber color with small head that turns to a liner on top of the beer. Tastes malty with small bitter after taste, but a good bear. kimcgolf (828), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 2, 2007 Had on tap in a 20 oz. glass. Poured to a bright copper color with thin off-white head that lingered as a slight skim for most of the glass and left good lacing. Aroma was a malty mix of roasted nuts and dark fruits. Mouthfeel was somewhat tingly due to a good amount of carbonation and the flavor was fairly mutedm, but a pleasant mix of the malted fruit offset slightly by a taste of tangy citrus.
This would make a good session beer. porterhouse (1152), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 28, 2007 (Bottled 8/6/07 from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/augusta/l target=blank>Lou’s Beverage Barn) Pours clear amber with one finger of biege head that recedes to a thin covering. Aroma of some vanilla, egg and brown sugar. Mouthfeel light-medium full, a little pebbly. Some light, ringy lacing. Flavor is mostly some mild malty notes (vanilla, caramel, egg) with a light bitterness overlaying and carrying through finish. Not the most exciting beer but certainly not bad. hayduke (1641), Eureka, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 1/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2007 From a 12 oz bottle this poured a rich amber color with white head and decent lacing. Nose of malts, citrus hops, with a decent mouthfeel. Flavors of malts and hops, with a mild and slightly bitter finish. I was surprised to learn it was an amber. Pretty good beer. decaturstevo (1985), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2007 A deep amber orange pour. Malt and spice on the nose. Malt flavor with a solid but subtle bitter. Semit sweet on the front. Mouthfeel is solid with good carbonation. A good beer not like most seasonals in that it is almost the plate of a good IPA without the hard bitter. I was surprised to find that it was an amber ale. TheBeerBaron (219), Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 20, 2007 Rusty copper color, average off white head and no bubbles visible through an opaque hue. A strong malty aroma with distinct grapefruit tone. A light hinge of hops - overall, a wonderful smelling ale. Slightly thick palate that could do with more carbonation. Red Hook must have picked a citrus grove for their harvest. This Harvest Ale has a definite orange/grapefruit flavor. Heavy on the malt and then a balancing hoppy finish. Its a quirky tangy beer, but altogerhter enjoyable. Zinister (1199), Houston, Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 20, 2007 Thanks to Kaggie97 for handing me this as I stumbled away from his house. Amber color with a bit or orange hues. Nice head. Mildly malty nose with little else. Body is medium with some slightly spicy sweetness and some hops, maybe some nuts...but not much else. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 19, 2007 12 oz bottle from City Market (September 2007) consumed from an Allagash glass at cellar temp or a little below….big smooth head, quick-fading, hazy amber body….minimal toasty-malty nose….pretty middle-of-the road profile on the tongue, bit too sweet and syrupy, very light on the hops with just a hint of citrus and soft pine at the finish….dull as hell but drinkable.
