Redhook Late Harvest Autumn Ale

The malty caramel aspects of this beer weren’t too bad but the beer seems to derive balance by drowning them out rather than accentuating them.

Poured a clear effervescent amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of dry toffee and a bit of caramel. Taste has a lot of hoppy dryness up front, with some underlying caramel, toffee, and a bit of lemony fruit. Just a touch of skunk throws this a bit off. Average body. Not terrible, but not extremely drinkable.

12oz bottle. Clear copper color with nice tan head and good lacing. This beer creates the same flavor as aroma. There’s sweet caramel malts, a bit of biscuit, dryer tasting roasted malts and some floral to spicy hops. Tasty brew.

Pours a clean medium amber with small head. Aroma is sort of weak. Sourish malts. Taste is pretty nice. Decent malts with a smidge of spice. A decent brew.

Bottle. Amber in color, off white head. NIce aroma reminds me of hazelnut. Taste starts off malty with a mild hop finish. Slightly warming mouthfeel. A nice mild autumn ale.

Late Harvest, Redhooks fall beer, pours a deep copper color, reminiscent of wet, fallen leaves, topped off by a light-brown, fizzy head. Virtually no lacing, and light carbonation in the body. Aroma is of bread malts and yeast. Initial taste is lightly bitter, sliding down into a slightly acidic finish that doesn’t last long on the mouth. Watery on the palate, we’re left dry with a flat body.

Pours a deep coppery amber with a half-inch beige head. Malty aroma wit ha dash of hops. Flavor is dark, caramel malt with a dash of well-placed hops. Nice aftertaste ... soft and spicy. Very pleasant seasonal.
