linkolnlogg (94), your home, Minnesota, USA Oct 17, 2006 Bottle to pounder (shaker). Pours out a light amber colour with a slight bubbly head with very minimal lacing. Scent is slightly nutty and dry. Taste is at first hoppy and sweet and then quickly progresses into spices and an almost pumpkin element. Goes down well but unfortunately leaves a dry and metallic element on the palate. goldtwins (4078), Nesconset, New York, USA Oct 16, 2006 Poured a clear dark golden amber color with a minimal sized head. Fruity malt aroma with notes of apples and caramel. Caramle malty flavor. Dry bitter finish. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 16, 2006 on tap-pours an offwhite head with copper color. Aroma is balanced malt & medium hops. Taste is balanced malt-sweet/caramel & medium hops, smokey. OK carbonation. Delirium (495), Santa Cruz, California, USA Oct 15, 2006 Bottle. Pours amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet autumn spices, malt, caramel, a bit of toastiness, and a bit of hops. Flavor is similar, possibly with a bit of pumpkin, although I know this isn’t supposed to be a pumpkin beer. Moderately thin but not terribly so. Not very remarkable, but pleasant. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA Oct 15, 2006 tap in Carbondale, IL pours copper amber with a small off-white head. aroma is hoppier than expected-pine and spice with some nice amber malts as well. some light sourness in there as well. flavors are balanced between the caramel malts and spicy hops. actually, this is one of the better amber ales i have had in a while. definately a suprise. I find this to be one of red hook’s best offerings. T2Tool (352), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Oct 14, 2006 On draft, amber pour. Nice flavor with a little bit of a spicy kick. An enjoyable beer which goes down smooth. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Oct 14, 2006 Pours fairly dark amber with a small off-white head. The aroma has lightly roasted caramel malt with some sweetness and tangy spice. Medium body starts off smooth, but gets crisp on the finish due to the sharp carbonation. Flavor starts with lightly taosted caramel malt with light brown sugar and a syrupy taste, but not a cloying or thick body. The finish has hops comeing in with spice and light pine. This is much better than I expected from Red Hook. Goblincat (356), Westland, Michigan, USA Oct 12, 2006 Pours orange red with whitish head. A bit of citrus and hops on the nose. Quite mild in taste, malt and a little citrus.
