satan165 (541), River Grove, Illinois, USA Oct 31, 2008 wonderfully malty nose, very marzen like. ruby red pour, aroma behooves how well balanced this brew is. malt sweetness and even savoryness meets hop bitterness just enough to tip the scales even. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Oct 30, 2008 Bottle from BevMo in Natomas, CA. Copper color with a slight whitish head. Rather roasted malt aroma. Medium body with creamish carbonation. Flavor is spiced malt. You could sell this as a pumpkin ale. Like pumpkin is tasteless - right? It’s all about the spice. These are really spicey noble hops. (Ok, they may not meet strict geographic requirements) A real surprise. It’s very fresh and clean. Almost deserves a new category. Not one of those droopy ambers. Really stands up and stands out. Crafty07 (391), Florence, Kentucky, USA Oct 27, 2008 The newest and one of the better offerings from Redhook, this dark amber ale is rich and malty with a good finish and nothing unpleasent. Very sessionable. Enjoy doubleo (1096), San Diego, California, USA Oct 26, 2008 On-tap at San Diego Brewing Co. Pours amber with a medium white head, good lace. Smells subdued malty, caramelly sweet with some dishtowel as well. Tastes exactly the same as it smells with a lingering dishwater finish. Not a very good beer. Medium body, ok carbonation. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Oct 24, 2008 Bottle. Morderate sweet spice but nothing exciting. Orange body with good head and some lacing.Flavor was sweetwith some bittering and easy to drink. Got a roast and toasty aftertaste. Odd that wasn’tin flavor or aroma. scooterbub (332), Lander, Wyoming, USA Oct 20, 2008 Bottle, but says 5.9% abv on it. Pours a nice copper color with a small, clingy, tan head. Taste is of caramel, roasted malt, and hops. Sweet tasting, with a bitter, dry finish. Clean and very easy to drink. Caramel and malt aroma. Overall, this is a pretty decent beer, that is easy to drink in large quantities. I’d say it is worth purchasing again. guzzler67 (1272), Hanover, Maryland, USA Oct 20, 2008 Hazy bronze appearance with an average size head and very good lacing. Earthy, caramel malt aroma. Taste is fairly sweet, but not cloying. Toasted malts up front with enough Saaz hops to keep things in balance and add a slightly spicy dimension. Dry, moderately bitter, medium length finish. Matches up well to your basic domestic Octoberfest. Chipper (179), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 19, 2008 Amber color with a moderate off-white head. Not much aroma, other than a little malt, and maybe some hops. Flavor is sooth, but watery. Drinkable but forgettable.
