MrBunn (889), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 14, 2007 Bottle. Dark amber color that borders on orange and copper. Head is smallish, especially after a couple of minutes. Aromas are of bread and apple juice. Flavor is more of the same with a slight bit of a peat flavoring that adds a little bite before disappearing back into the apple juice concentrate sweetness that dominates most of the opening palate and the aftertaste. Ar, Red Hook, will you ever captivate my interest?
shigadeyo (1387), Southwest Ohio Area, Ohio, USA Oct 6, 2008 10/06/2008: Redhook Late Harvest Autumn Ale has a vibrant golden amber color (like copper) with a full, dense, ivory-colored head. There is good lacing and an adequate level of carbonation. The aroma is a bit thin with only a marginal amount of caramelly maltiness. The flavor is lightly malty with some brown sugar and a light amount of citrusy hops. There is also a lightly toastiness to it as well that reminds me of dried leaves in the Fall and a faint pineapple-like essence. The finish is slighty dry. This beer has a solid mouthfull and a medium-body. It is very smooth and really does fit the season nicely. This Amber Ale is definitely better than average and is even fairly sessionable. However, I would have liked more of the German Smoked Malt supposedly in the recipe to come through in the delivery...

lithy (200), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 6, 2008 Clear reddish copper color with a finger of puffy creamy off white head. Slightly metallic amber malt aromas. Slight piney hoppiness and caramel with a cool metallic feel and a bit of nuttiness with enough hops to balance. HighlanderOne (461), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA Oct 5, 2008 Poured from bottle . Gas and malt in aroma. Clear amber, thin tan head. Roasted malt flavor comes through, hops somewhat evident in aftertaste. Good finish. A good beer that could be better. afireinside96 (494), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 5, 2008 From a bottle at KSBF ’08. Amber body with a small head. Nose of spicy noble hops. Bready spicy flavor that I remember being unpleasant but I didn’t write down why. The only beer I dumped all day. mjg74 (1798), La Mesa, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle from BevMo. Bright reddish amber color upon pouring. Somewhat sweet malty aroma. A little hop character as well. Crisp malty flavor with a decent balance of hops. Decent amber.
