2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Generally pleasant generic over-hopped IPA. Not too bitter, not too sweet, and for something approaching a macro brewery, itís something better to fallback on when nothing else is available (much like a Guinness when given the choice of Bud and Coors). Granted, its one of the better Red Hook brews that Iíve has as well. (Bottle - way too many times)

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
If you are trying to get someone to start to like different beers this is a good starter IPA. Light hoppy aroma, pours with a white sudsy head. Decent hoppy flavor, well balanced. IPA light, but still not a bad beer.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A pretty solid beer.. A lot better than I would have guess it would be. The appearance is clear and white sudsy head that stays throughout. Better than average lacing. The taste is a sort of dry bitter that hits you up front and stays on your mouth for a reasonable amount of time. Not nearly enough sweetness to balance this beer off, even though itís not overly hoppy, if that makes sense. Its a pretty heavy feeling beer, and not the session drinkerís beer. Bottom line is a pretty standard IPA, nothing special but better than I would have expected. Its always on sale.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours an OK head that dissipates rather quickly and leaves behind what I call dish drain suds around the edges. Iím not impressed with the aroma--thereís a hint of hoppyness, but it otherwise smells like standard beer, though not quite as thin and rank. The taste, however, is surprisingly smooth; thereís a minor hint of bitterness at first taste and a bit of malty flavor. In the end, not what Iíd go after for an IPA, but it could be a good starter IPA for people who want to get into the bitter/hoppy arena, but just canít go full bore. In the end, I wouldnít kick a six pack of this outta bed, but then again, Iíd definitely opt for another, truer IPA.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I canít say I"m surprised that this very smooth, drinkable IPA comes into this site with an anemic 38 percentile score.
Itís not disgustingly hoppy. Itís smooth and drinkable like seveal of Redhookís offerings, so the hopheads MUST denigrate it.
For those beer drinkers like me who dontí worship at the hop alter, this is a very drinkable IPA

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
I would call this IPA light. Starts off with a nice hop bouquet but disappoints in the taste. Malty with very slight hoppiness. As the beer warmed the malt took over and some off flavours started to present themselves. Cheers!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Medium gold color. Nose of weak hops, grass, small notes of malt and flower. Flavor is of weak hops and malts as well with more noticeable flower presence. Over carbonated and very mediocre drinking.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours pale gold, small white head. Aroma is malt and slight hops. Flavor was a very subdued hops and pine / citrus. Way too subdued for me. This beer would please the BMC drinkers that have never tasted an IPA, as it is not aggressive at all.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
THOUGHTS: Once again an IPA that seems to miss the mark. Not much balance here. Aroma was fairly nice once it wared up a little more, but the flavor is just bad.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a light to medium orange with a small white head that quickly diminished. The aroma was light to moderate caramel malt and heavy pine and citrus hops. The flavor was moderate sweetness and light bitterness. while the finish was light sweetness and heavy to harsh bitterness with an average finish, but short for the style. The flavor was mostly pine and citrus hops but flavor really dropped off as it hit the back of the mouth and throat. The light to medium body was dry with soft carbonation that was a little tingly and had a metallic finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2008 pours a golden amber with a white head. hoppy & floral aroma, but not as potent as most IPAs. has an almost over-simplified smell. taste is hoppy citrus with moderate carbonation, flowers, & grass. wet. mid-heavy body. it’s really tame compared to other IPAs i’m a big fan of; it’s not as rich. not much alcohol taste. would make a good session beer, but don’t expect wonders. RE-RATE: had it aged about a month past the expiration date printed on the bottle, and the aroma was DRASTICALLY improved. flavor was a little better too, but it was really the aroma that caught my attention (strangely enough).
