Cask at GBBF 08. Slightly hazy yellowish amber with a great nose of aromatic American hops and fruit salad. Simple, highly drinkable and very nice.

Bomber. Pours a clear gold with a soap scum white head and zero lacing. Nose is malt and sweet citrus. Taste is caramel, fruity juicyfruit gum and a mild bitter piney hop finish. Light to medium mouth feel. Doesn’t hold up well with the big gun IPAs, but it’s drinkable and sessionable at this ABV, which is what I think this was intended.

Cask at GBBF 08. Hazy gold, no head. Lovely hoppy aroma, some fruit salad in mouth. Nice to have some US hops at last. It’s somewhat peppery. Good tasty hops. Touch of syrup to the malts and a little too empty on the toffee malts, but fine.

Clear amber with tiny off white head. Sweet aroma with hoppy and caramel notes. Sweet flavor with hoppy, piney and caramel notes. Dry and bitter finish.

Not a bad IPA nothing outstanding. Dry hoppiness with a decent duration. Clear amber/yellow body. Decent head with good lacing. Average at best.

This was a solid IPA. Definitely nothing special about it but it does the job I guess.

Compared to most IPAs this one has a very dry hop flavor. I like my IPAs soaking with hops, but this one leaves the taste buds asking for more punch. Not bad though.

I’ve had this beer many times over the years, but I’ve finally decided to add my review. Overall, this is a fairly underwhelming IPA. Although its appearance is decent (clear, golden color), the total experience is not what one typically looks forward to when drinking an IPA. Instead of a hoppiness that assaults your senses, Long Hammer is only lightly bitter with a thin feel to the finish and after taste. If you want a mild IPA, you would probably like this one.

Not much to write about, a simple, thin IPA (or pale ale if you want to correctly title it) was expecting a lot more of everything from this one. Only bitterness from hops, very minimal hoppiness. Odd palate.

Clear gold/bronze. Dense white head. Floral and grassy hops and lightly sweet malt. Same flavors with lots of earthy bitterness, even a bit astringent. Medium body, balanced carbonation. Meh.
