COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The distinctive India Pale Ale style was developed by British brewers in the 1700s in order to create a sturdy beer that could survive long sea journeys to far-flung colonies where troops eagerly awaited the arrival of this sublime liquid refreshment. Long Hammer takes the traditional IPA brewing process one step further by dry hopping, or adding hops at the end of the brewing process with Cascade hops to give a wonderful hop aroma but not the overpowering hop taste. Long Hammer IPA is the beer you find yourself reaching for again and again, no matter what the occasion. Long Hammer pairs nicely with grilled meats, seafood, Mexican, Indian, Thai or other spicy ethnic foods. Available year round.

Poured from bottle 1/2008. Potent hop aroma. Medium amber, thin head. Nice hop flavors. Not as wildly hopped as other American IPA s. Nice hop feel in the back of the mouth. Finished nicely. A decent IPA.

Wow. I used to think Red Hook was a pretty decent microbrew back in the day. So I figured their IPA might be all right, but then I took a look at the reviews here and shied away from it until I was at a friendís place, and it appears he dived into a twelve-pack from the local "Star Mart." Pours YELLOW, which is odd for an IPA. I expected orangeish brew. Not much of an aroma. You can sort of smell the grapefruit. Is that Summit hops? Anyway, a bit of a bite, but Three Floydís Pride & Joy probably compares, and itís a mild ale. Sorta too bad.

On tap at the Wachovia Center. Deep golden color with thin head. Hoppy aroma. Taste was mostly bitter hops with some malts to balance it out a bit. Dry finish. Not a bad IPA on draft.

Yellow pour and a bitter taste. Not really a fan. It was link drinking pine needles if that makes any sense.

OMG, this shit is foul. For it to be a filtered beer, I sure had a shitload of floaties in my bottle. Poured out a piss yellow, with a stale, cheesy hop aroma. I couldnít even choke down a full swallow of this sewer sludge. Certified drain pour.

12 ounce bottle from glenville beverage. Pours golden wit a little head, no lace. Smells hoppy, bitter and the botter lasts a long time in your mouth. Maybe alittle citrusy if you really think about it. Itís an ok beer. Ipaís arent my thing.

Not my favorite IPA at all. Some nice qualities of the hops in there but nothing special. I would rather purchase a different IPA.

slightly hazy golden brew that is refreshing, moderately hoppy and decently sweet. the alcohol is well hidden and it has a hard carbonation and bitter tinge to it. the finish does not linger. decent brew.

12 oz bottle- solid IPA by redhook. Pours a deep golden color with little head. Very hoppy and somewhat sweet aroma once the carbonation subsides. Flavor and palate are also very typical of an IPA. Medium body and no bitter aftertaste.
