3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a sparkling dark gold with a small, rocky, off-white head. The nose is dominated by pine with a hint of wet leaves. Medium-bodied and almost creamy, this one had a different mouthfeel from many of the IPAs Iíve sampled. A good balance between sweet, caramel-flavored malts and a hoppy finish, I rather liked this one, despite the current consensus.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Poured a clear golden color with a moderate frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUN 5, 2008 Nice color, but the head is a little small. It did leave nice lacing though. Decent IPA, especially for something mass produced. Hoppy and bitter but not overly so. Kind of thin, and not much different from the regular Red Hook IPA. Iwould have liked to have seen a bit more hops and some malt to back it up with, especially since Red Hook has a regular IPA.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tallahassee, Fl. - Publix Supermarket - 12 oz bottle. Light copper pour, soft, but thin white head. Brief sprucey aroma, hint of mint. Typical grapefruity citrusy flavor with not much of a malty backbone. Some traces of maple syrup and a hint of nuttiness redeems it a bit, Stinging mouthfeel which is a bit on the thin side.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear deep gold body and a rocky white head. Malty, slightly hoppy aroma. Flavor is rich, with plenty of doughy malts counterbalancing some solid citrusy hops. The finish is sticky sweet and bitter. Itís not great, but surely better than the current rating it garners on this site.

Smells of hops and slighgt roasted malt. I liked the hoppiness a lot; not expecting it but I love hops, so it was a pleasant surprise. I consider red hook kind mid-grade, but this is my favorite one from them so far.

12 oz. bottle at Zenoís, Penn State. Poured clear, light amber with no head retention. Weak IPA all around, aroma, flavor, palate. Címon Redhook, step it up.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught. Clear amber color with a slight grapefruit hop aroma. Flavor mostly dry and moderately hoppy---grapefruit with some resin. Seems a bit off-center. Any hop character here seems accentuated only because the maltiness is kind of weak. Canít really say this is any better or worse than the regular RH IPA.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle: poured fairly light orange, quite still, with a bright white thin but almost rocky head. Significant lacing remains. Light citrusy aroma. Light on the palate, this is a fairly well balanced brew, with a real light malt foundation and a tangy bitterness in the flourish. Maybe not the textbook example of an IPA, but this is a drinkable light ale with a pretty big bite to it. Better than the ratings suggest. (#2845, 5/7/2007)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A decent IPA. Not bad at all. Hoppiness is at a good level. No weird flavors or anything. One of redhooks better offerings.
