COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The distinctive India Pale Ale style was developed by British brewers in the 1700s in order to create a sturdy beer that could survive long sea journeys to far-flung colonies where troops eagerly awaited the arrival of this sublime liquid refreshment. Long Hammer takes the traditional IPA brewing process one step further by dry hopping, or adding hops at the end of the brewing process with Cascade hops to give a wonderful hop aroma but not the overpowering hop taste. Long Hammer IPA is the beer you find yourself reaching for again and again, no matter what the occasion. Long Hammer pairs nicely with grilled meats, seafood, Mexican, Indian, Thai or other spicy ethnic foods. Available year round.

Bottle from bier-deluxe.de. Orange golden color with medium white head. Malty aroma with light citrus hoppy touch. Taste, solid malty base followed by hoppy touch with tangerines, grapefruit, oranges. Bit watery finish. In fact not bad, refreshing, but again more hops would do this beer much better.

Molto buona. Un sapore forte e deciso senza essere troppo invadente. Retrogusto ottimo.

Bottle from October 2013, so not super fresh. Clear copper with a small white head. Light pine, wood, grapefruit, white bread, biscuit. Medium body, light/medium sweet and medium bitter, oily texture, medium carbonation. Long dry and medium bitter finish. A bit low on flavour, a bit thin until the bitterness kicks in and not very interesting overall. Thirst quenching, though.

Very standard ipa. Could use more floral or fruity notes. Clean hoppy beer. It’ll do the trick.

Dulled pale, visible carbonation with a neat and consistent white cap. Big perfume pine, neatly floral citrus - a real Cascade party? Very clean, very glacier sweet initial taste but fades quickly - no bite. Smooth and very passable mouthfeel for the ABV, creamy curd vibe with soft citrus tartness. Dry lime thread throughout, gritty mealy malt. Finishes dry but doesn’t resonate as long or hard as you’d hope on paper or on price.

Bottle, Appellation Wine, Edinburgh

355ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear pale gold, thin white head. Aromas of dank earthy pine hops, caramel. Taste is lime rind and toffee. Medium body, oily texture. Bitter finish.

Bottle from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - golden amber with a nice lacy head. Nose - earthy and dank. Vegetables like parsnip and a slight menthol note. Taste - lime and toffee with citrus pith on the end. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - good but not impressive for this style.

Limpido color biondo con soffice schiuma bianca. Profumata e floreale al naso, con delicati sentori fruttati e luppolati; gusto amaro, luppolato e mediamente maltoso con un finale erbaceo. Corpo medio, struttura setosa, mediamente persistente. "Banalotta" ma piacevole.

16 oz can pours very light lots of head. Aroma of pineapple and citrus hops. Taste is a little cheap tasting and seems a watered down. Mild and not as hoppy as i remember it. Average IPA.
