3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Shaw’s, packaged 12/11/15. Poured into a pint glass clear gold, lightly carbonated. Thin white head, moderate lacing. Nutty aroma, lightly hopped, could be sessionable but ABV is higher than it seems. According to the ratings this should be terrible, but seems pretty decent to me.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
In bottiglia. Colore giallo oro velato. Schiuma alta, soapy, di buonissima persistenza. Olfatto maltato e resinoso. Carbonazione media, frizzante. Aroma di resina, tè agrumato e malto di impostazione english bitter. Gusto terroso, mediamente dolce, poi amaro, a seccarsi. Luppolatura morbida, tipicamente cascade.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice refreshing light tasting IPA. Very well balanced, non intrusive hop profile. A tiny bit grainy flavor, but all around solid beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Originally rated on 8/22/08. On my third as i type, I was pleasantly surprised by longhammer, partially because my expectations were not too high to begin with. It pours a dark golden yellow hue. Decent white cap disappated to a thin head, yet it leaves good lacing. Aroma of some citrus, but mostly floral, taste was similar with a lasting bitterness, and a very slight aftertaste of berries. Overall it is a pretty good IPA, especially for those new to the style, but for those seeking that super hop blast this will be an average brew.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle @ Fresh Thyme / Newport KY --- Clear medium/light amber color, long-lasting off-white head, lace cobwebs. Taste is malt that allows solid hops to ride on its back through a medium finish. Pretty straightforward, but it works well enough.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Signal Variety. Aroma is floral, fruity, citrus and hint of pine over malty backbone. Appearance is hazy, pale greenish yellow with minimal sparkle, 1/2 finger-width head with poor retention and mild foamy ring of lacing. Taste is strong citrus and fruit balanced early sweet with late bitter. Palate is light-to-medium body with lively carbonation that is too strong and dominates the palate and overruns the taste. Crisp, dry finish. Overall, a good East-Coast IPA which could use a slightly richer appearance and less carbonation.
