COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The distinctive India Pale Ale style was developed by British brewers in the 1700s in order to create a sturdy beer that could survive long sea journeys to far-flung colonies where troops eagerly awaited the arrival of this sublime liquid refreshment. Long Hammer takes the traditional IPA brewing process one step further by dry hopping, or adding hops at the end of the brewing process with Cascade hops to give a wonderful hop aroma but not the overpowering hop taste. Long Hammer IPA is the beer you find yourself reaching for again and again, no matter what the occasion. Long Hammer pairs nicely with grilled meats, seafood, Mexican, Indian, Thai or other spicy ethnic foods. Available year round.

Light clear copper. Floral aroma. Pretty bland IPA. Not hoppy at all. More of a pale ale.

Clear amber color. Aroma contains some light notes of grapefruit, citrus and some grassy tones. Taste is also pretty light with citrus and floral notes. Drinkable but nothing special.

The nose is hoppy, floral with some grassiness and lemon notes. The taste definitely has the hops come out strong. The mouthfeel is well carbonated and medium bodied and finishes with some of the grassiness and hops. Overall, not a bad IPA, and for an IPA, I would have this again.

beertholomeus (73) - California, USA - MAY 9, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 10, 2013 Pours a pale yellow color with very little head. Very slight hop and citrus aromas. A modest amount of hop flavor with subtle citrus hints as well. Light body for an ipa and not overly bitter. Smooth though and refreshing.

Poured minimal head on a clear, copper body. The aroma has a mild lemon and honey smell to it. Not much though. The taste is fairly tame for an American IPA. Moderate bitterness followed by lemon bitterness to finish. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. Not a bad drink.

I was looking forward to my first beer on holidays and i cracked this open. It let me down. Very light for an ipa, not hoppy enough, sharp taste. An inbetweener id say

Pours clear amber with slight bit of cloudy. Thin, 1 finger head very light lacing. Aroma: very light grapefruit a bit of dry grass. Taste: quit light weight with a nice refreshing hoppy bitterness. Finishes very dry bitterness fades quickly leaving a very slight honey aftertaste. Overall a great light IPA suitable for a hot day of working outside.
