The distinctive India Pale Ale style was developed by British brewers in the 1700s in order to create a sturdy beer that could survive long sea journeys to far-flung colonies where troops eagerly awaited the arrival of this sublime liquid refreshment. Long Hammer takes the traditional IPA brewing process one step further by dry hopping, or adding hops at the end of the brewing process with Cascade hops to give a wonderful hop aroma but not the overpowering hop taste. Long Hammer IPA is the beer you find yourself reaching for again and again, no matter what the occasion. Long Hammer pairs nicely with grilled meats, seafood, Mexican, Indian, Thai or other spicy ethnic foods. Available year round.

An oldey but a goody. Great floral notes and an easy finish... You don’t find many IPAs like this these days.

Bottle. Nice, white head. Pale golden colour. Smells of hops and citrus. Fresh and nice smell. A bit too astringent flavour for my taste. Hay, floral, grass, citrus. Bitter aftertaste.

Just okay IPA. Hazy dark orange. Fresh musky hop nose. Taste adds a little citrus with medium bitterness. Drinkable, but not anything special.

Aroma: Medium-high hops; pine, resin, light spice, cirtus, fruity. Medium malt, caramel, no diecetyl, no DMS Appearance: Hazy pale gold body. Medium white head. Good retention. Flavour: Medium bitterness, medium sweetness. Well balanced, leaning slightly towards bitterness. Light lingering bitterness. Dry finish. Medium-high hop flavours, piney, resin, citrus. Light malt, bready. No diecetyl, no DMS Mouthfeel: Medium bodies, medium high carbonation. Dry finish Overall: Very enjoyable and a very easy drinking beer. The one I got was four months old, so I assume a lot of the dry hopping has dropped out. Definately a beer I can have a few of! 335 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Esme! 14B. American IPA

Bottle. Slightly hazy deep gold. No head. Musky malty aroma and some pine as it warms up. Lemony citrus and moderate hop bitterness. Quite thin palate. Low carbonation. Maybe I made a mistake drinking after a Firestone Walker Double Jack

Long Hammer is an IPA that is OK. Its not poor but not excellent. A medium and dependably so IPA to me at least. A Toyota to a Lexus, if you will.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass every time I’ve had it. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color along the sides and taking on a darker ruddy brown color in the center. The head was about a finger’s worth of white foaminess that dissipated within about forty seconds leaving a film of a lacing. The smell had some light sweet pine but only after a bit of warming. The taste was mainly bitter, it really took some warming to let the flavors show their face. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was harsh just like a good AIPA should be. Overall, everything is on par to make it a go to AIPA however, every time I’ve had it I always think that the aroma just doesn’t seem to show enough.

Bottled 0,33L. Nice orange clearly color with moderate bubbly aspect and creamy head duration. Frsh hoppy and flowery aroma, notes of cereals, aged flower and soft cortex. Medium prickly mouth, equilibrate and long bitterness.
