COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The distinctive India Pale Ale style was developed by British brewers in the 1700s in order to create a sturdy beer that could survive long sea journeys to far-flung colonies where troops eagerly awaited the arrival of this sublime liquid refreshment. Long Hammer takes the traditional IPA brewing process one step further by dry hopping, or adding hops at the end of the brewing process with Cascade hops to give a wonderful hop aroma but not the overpowering hop taste. Long Hammer IPA is the beer you find yourself reaching for again and again, no matter what the occasion. Long Hammer pairs nicely with grilled meats, seafood, Mexican, Indian, Thai or other spicy ethnic foods. Available year round.

Not a bad beer, but not a great one either. The flavor was not bad, but let more to be desired.

Bottle. Clear golden pour with small white head. Aroma has pine and grass. Taste is balanced although not very complex. Nice citrus and bitterness.

Pretty okay IPA. Nothing stellar but nothing terrible. The aroma has some orange and pine qualities but I noticed a weird adjuncty smell as well which was kind of lame. Taste is alright, itís almost like a lager itís weird. Some bitterness but nothing crazy, not really anything stands out. Itís alright nothing I would seek out. Itís cheap so I guess thatís a plus. Okay beer.

Pours a slightly hazy orange color, topped with very decent white head. There is a pleasantly fruity and citrusy aroma, easily picked up, but not too strong. The taste is nicely bitter, creamy feel with some citrus notes. A very nice one, really.

Bottle. Nice, white head. Pale golden colour. Smells of hops and citrus. Fresh and nice smell. A bit too astringent flavour for my taste. Hay, floral, grass, citrus. Bitter aftertaste.

Just okay IPA. Hazy dark orange. Fresh musky hop nose. Taste adds a little citrus with medium bitterness. Drinkable, but not anything special.

Aroma: Medium-high hops; pine, resin, light spice, cirtus, fruity. Medium malt, caramel, no diecetyl, no DMS Appearance: Hazy pale gold body. Medium white head. Good retention. Flavour: Medium bitterness, medium sweetness. Well balanced, leaning slightly towards bitterness. Light lingering bitterness. Dry finish. Medium-high hop flavours, piney, resin, citrus. Light malt, bready. No diecetyl, no DMS Mouthfeel: Medium bodies, medium high carbonation. Dry finish Overall: Very enjoyable and a very easy drinking beer. The one I got was four months old, so I assume a lot of the dry hopping has dropped out. Definately a beer I can have a few of! 335 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Esme! 14B. American IPA

Bottle. Slightly hazy deep gold. No head. Musky malty aroma and some pine as it warms up. Lemony citrus and moderate hop bitterness. Quite thin palate. Low carbonation. Maybe I made a mistake drinking after a Firestone Walker Double Jack

Long Hammer is an IPA that is OK. Its not poor but not excellent. A medium and dependably so IPA to me at least. A Toyota to a Lexus, if you will.
