COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The distinctive India Pale Ale style was developed by British brewers in the 1700s in order to create a sturdy beer that could survive long sea journeys to far-flung colonies where troops eagerly awaited the arrival of this sublime liquid refreshment. Long Hammer takes the traditional IPA brewing process one step further by dry hopping, or adding hops at the end of the brewing process with Cascade hops to give a wonderful hop aroma but not the overpowering hop taste. Long Hammer IPA is the beer you find yourself reaching for again and again, no matter what the occasion. Long Hammer pairs nicely with grilled meats, seafood, Mexican, Indian, Thai or other spicy ethnic foods. Available year round.

6-pack from my local grocery store. Pours a light shade of orange with a frothy white head. Smells and tastes of hops, citrus, cream, and flour. Simple, but balanced, and highly drinkable. Impressive in it’s averageness and accessibility.

Bottle. Pours golden with a small white head. Strange aroma with notes of butter and herbs... Taste is somewhat better - crisp and bitter with notes of grape citrus and herbs.

Pours light yellow, white head that thins. Citrus, perhaps grapefruit, nose. Delicate flavour and medium carbonation. Nice zippy freshness but lacks bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Mary Jane’s. Geez, awesome bottle! Nothing else about this beer is awesome. Just solid with no amazing features. Sweet malts take their focus. Not bad in any way

Can. Low fluffy white lasting head. Clear amber body. Mild barley malt aroma with grassy notes and hints of honey and caramel. Weak apple pear notes as well. Thinbodied watery apple pear grass caramel flavor with little hops bitternsse, low carbonation and a somewhat odd long finish.

Bottle. Pours an off-yellow kind of, nice aroma. Flavor is lacking a bit but has some hops and a bit of weak citrus. Not bad, but certainly not good.

355ml bottle [6.2& abv]. Clear golden colour with small, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, white head. Caramel malty aroma, clean hoppy overtones, hints of orange. Taste is pale malty, dry hoppy, minimally fruity, grassy and herbal; filtered close to insignificance. Maybe an approximation to historic British examples but pretty f...ing far away from a West Coast IPA. Absolutely boring.

Translucent golden pour with small white head. Hop aroma with a stale malt backbone. Flavor is similar, hoppy bite with a cardboard like malt finish. Drinkable but not a very good IPA.
