Six barley malts and two hop varieties result in a surprisingly smooth, well balanced dark beer. Mudslinger pairs nicely with grilled meats, stews, fowl, and even smoked oysters or salmon. Of the four beers in the variety 12 pack I like this one the best. Pours brown with a ruby tinge, slight khaki head gone quickly. Aroma is roasted grain, bread, caramel malt, and toast. Flavor tends toward the sweet side, with a decent amount of bitterness to back it up. Has a lingering bitterness to the aftertaste, quite subtle. Overall, pretty refreshing and decent but nothing special.

Clear brown color pour with a fizzy head. Pretty standard brown ale. Light roasted nutty malt and a hint of hops. Just okay.

sixer picked up at azwine. bottle dec72009 consumed 2/20/10. the aroma doesn’t give me much.... it is mostly caramel malt with chocolate, a a little smoke and some toasted nuts tossed in. the flavor has the same characteristics with maple walnut creme candies, biscuits and a dry hoppy finish which actually tingles the tongue. . it is easy drinking (and without much thought) with a medium body and high spritzy carbonation. 5/3/6/3/13/3.0

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours mahogany, clear, with 1-fimger eggshell head. Nose is malty, red winey fruit, berries. Tastes very malty, with vinous fruit, cacao, some hops, and an overall sweetness with a pretty smooth finish.

Bottle 355 ml
Aroma dark caramel, honey, light clean hop on top. Sweet sided yet not cloying. Slight fruity notes at finish. 7-
Appearance dark amber with hints of brown. Lighter tanned top.
Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied. Malty, soft textured base. Sweet with slight nutty character, faint touch of chocolate. Fruity fig like finish. Fine but overall bit too sweet even for my taste.
