Not great, but for some reason this is the cheapest draft at my local pub so it is a good deal for me. Average brown ale, somewhat bitter.

Fairly dry, faint hops. Little in the way of malt complexity. Some nutty notes, but thatís really all this oneís got going for it.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2004 6/23/02: Restores my hope for brown ale (didn't like Newcastles). Nice sweet malt and slightly nutty flavor. only had one. Will try again and re-rate as necessary.
3/20/03: Pours a clear dark redish brown with a small beige head. Nose is light, sweet and malty. Flavor: Start is kinda sweet followed by a light hop bitterness and a slightly dry aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2004 One of my new favorites. Looks and tastes wonderful. I am a big fan of Newcastle Brown Ale and in my opinion this beer is better. Well done.

Heavy on the malt. The aroma leaves a little to be desired, but overall, not too bad. This was on tap, and I remember it being better than the bottle.

Yes, I know Budweiser owns a share of this company. But the beer appeals to me, nonetheless. Itís fizzy, and somewhat light and a tad sweet.

Malty aroma, mildly thick malty palate. Nice body in the middle, finishes slightly dry, kind of oakey. Decent brew, and a typically malty brown. The toffee is definitely evident, and combining this with the maltiness itís just a bit too sweet.

Smells like my right nut, but goes down smooth. Leaves a pleasant aftertaste.
